I haven't found out anything about her. Where is she from, how tall is she, what is her position? She looks like a good-sized kid

- Why JMU? likes the idea of playing giant killer. also wants a place where she can play her game, wide open and creative, not conforming to the coach's "system"
- doesnt want to be held back from what she is capable of

here are the finalists - Rutgers, ole miss, temple, Penn state, UCF and Florida state - not the traditional powers - maybe rutgers - didnt they win won 10 year ago? anyways, seems like she wants to elevate a program.

are we going to get her? still seems a long shot, but > 1%

She is from Maryland, so her parents can get to Harrisonburg pretty easily. She has a deal with Nike, so money is not a big driver. Maybe she wants the challenge of taking a mid to National prominence - ala Steph Curry, Larry Bird, Dwayne Wade. Likes Sean, likes JMU. would be a huge star and draw. She seems like someone who wants to cut her own path and challenge the conventional.

I am saying there is a chance.

Anyone have have a Kiyomi sighting at last night’s FB game? It was perfect weather and a rockin’ environment to host prospects. Hopefully other sports had the opportunity to host prospects too, or there were some “unofficial” visitors lurking around campus. 04-cheers

Yeah, saw her and her family with Sean on the sideline pregame and then they were sitting at the back of 110. Noticed early fourth quarter that they were gone, not sure if they left at half or later than that.

Would be huge ...and it's not like the money in WNBA varies tremendously if she is drafted top 10 vs top 50

And she already has her NIL $ coming in, so it’s not like she would need to go to a power program because she has nothing.

Nothing official but this WBB recruiting guy predicts both Kiyomi and #77 Woolfolk from Manchester to JMU. This would be freaking awesome.

Signing both Kiyomi Miller (5’9” PG) and Jamia (Mia) Woolfolk (6’3” F) would be a huge coup for JMU. Arguably, together they’d make up the best incoming class (players ranked #22 with a 96 grade, and #77 with a 92 grade by HoopGurlz) in program history.

Dreaming greedily, I’d like to see Sean add Tayla Thomas to this class (6’2” F) out of NJ (playing currently for an IMG team in FL). Tayla is ranked as the #56 best player by HoopGurlz (with a grade of 93). That dynamic power trio (Miller, Woolfolk and Thomas) would catapult JMU WBB into the top 20 and ready to make some real noise on the national scene.

RE: WBB Recruiting
this is the football effect.

i know we've had loads of success in wbb, but i don't think it's a coincidence we are suddenly in the running, maybe even the favorites, to land not one, but TWO, top 100 recruits in the first recruiting cycle after our move to FBS.

the perception of JMU has changed because of our football success. Right or wrong, football success at the highest level does make athletes in other sports think about us differently "wow, they are top 25 in football. that's a big time school. i got to check them out"

and we all know what happens when recruits come to campus and "check us out" they are almost all blown away.

how much does it help? who knows. you can't measure something like that. but it helps. a lot.

Especially when you show up for a visit and it coincides with a home game (Homecoming nonetheless) with a record setting crowd going nuts. COGS

They also took time during the Homecoming game to acknowledge the WBB team. That felt very calculated on JMU's part. The crowd reception was good for them as well.

imo, to get into the top 25 of football is considerably harder than any other sport. you need 30 + ballers in football to make the top 25. In hoops, if you have 1 elite player with a strong supporting cast, you can make the top 25.

you have to think that thought has entered into Kiyomi's mind. I can take the dukes to the top 20 with a strong supporting cast. In addition, I will be the center of it all and not have yield to the ego of the coach or more experienced similarly talented players.

lets make this happen Kiyomi!

How did we get Kiki and what was she ranked? Or Kamiah? Were Jz Gwathmey or Precious Hall or Angela Mickens ranked at all, or did they just get better while they were here?

Good question. Regarding Kiki I thought maybe like Kiyomi we were on her first, but we weren’t. Her first offer was Villanova and had much bigger offers before we joined the race.

Quote:Jefferson, only a sophomore, is a Division One recruit with scholarship offers from Villanova, St. Joseph’s, Penn State, Seton Hall and Colorado.

She said she’s being actively recruited by, among others, Notre Dame, Rutgers and Vanderbilt. She plays in the spring and summer with the Philadelphia Belles, an AAU powerhouse for which Stewart once played.

And, yes, Jefferson has gotten mail from, and been assured she’s on the radar of, UConn.

So does that mean if Auriemma offers, it’s a done deal? Maybe. Maybe not.

“Maybe I want to be part of the team that beats them,’’ Jefferson said.
