I was really impressed with our game plan to stop the run between the tackles. Temple has a physical interior OL and some good power backs, but we were ready, and swarmed them with numbers at the point of attack. We never let them get the momentum to run downhill on us.

IMO, that was the key to shutting down their offense. An offense that had been averaging about 20 points per game, and scored 0 against us. No, they aren't the Greatest Show On Turf, but they weren't nearly as bad coming in to this game.

We made them look that bad. 07-coffee3

Agreed, the Bulls defense did a great job. Our offense has been below average, but we have a roster full of guys more than qualified to play at this level, and a shut out is a tough thing to pull off. As for comments in this thread regarding USF's offense, it felt like their average age starting position was the Temple 25 yard line (again credit to the USF D) so the Bulls offensive stats reflect that. Good luck the rest of the way to USF, rep the American in the polls, and we'll see you in Philly next year.

Thanks, and good luck to Temple the rest of the season as well. 04-cheers

Is the hurricane effecting your attendance? That stadium was completely empty. Not a good look from that aspect. Especially on National TV & one of the top G5 teams

No it wasn’t the hurricane there are factors affecting attendance at USF but there are no excuses for the attendance at last nights game. It is an issue that has roots but also one that USF has not addressed correctly

I am absolutely done defending our poor attendance. We are winning, we are ranked... these are the things we said would bring back fans... it has not. I know the opponents are not as high profile as they were when we were in the Big East, but c'mon we should be able to get 30K given the product we have on the field.

I don't know what the solution is... Going to a USF game is fun exciting football. Idiotic trolling about pirate ships aside, it does not matter if it's an OCS or at RJS... we SHOULD have fans who can drive a few paltry miles to sit in a posh NFL stadium and watch us win.

Maybe there is no solution, and this is simply who we are... but if I were in charge I would be getting b*tts in the seats ANY way I could... Give boatloads of tickets away to schools, service providers, local alumni... whoever. Maybe some of these people have a great time and come back... maybe they spread the word. Selling tix with no one buying is a recipe for a long term disaster.

Well said

Giving free tickets is not the answer but there are steps they could take
1. The East side should be cheaper tickets and less donations than west side
2. Contact old season ticket holders that are no longer buying and work with them on deals to bring them back.
3. Have more seats on west side that do not need donations. Work with Alumni to encourage mote alumni to buy.
4. Give perks to those who use tickets. Since they are being scanned , maybe they get more points towards lower bowl ticket prices or lower renewal of season tickets.
5. Encourage students to attend by providing awards for groups that attend etc.
6. Bring back the family pack section to encourage families with kids to attend.
7. All of the above might not pay out right away but will in longer term
We aren’t solving this problem in one year

I understand your frustration, but do not let it spoil your mood. You have a terrfic team with a legitimate opportunty to grasp an Access Bowl invite.

One of the problems is what does a "ranking" really do for an AAC team? Even if you win out, what is your reward? Maybe a NYD bowl, but you are fighting with other G5s for that scrap. You could be ranked #15 and be relegated to a crap bowl against a 7 win P5 team. Apathy is setting in for AAC fans. The excitement of potential realignment is gone. AAC teams will need to be creative to get students to games. Lets face it, that is where the majority of future ticket holders come from. How do you motivate your student body to come out and create tradition? it a problem we all are going to face.

I know we play tomorrow, but it's fairly bizarre seeing that USF is 4-0 and UCF is 1-0.

This season is really odd with the extra bye weeks + hurricane disruptions

You guys always laugh it off until you get to your yearly mid-year collapse that ends in another season with no championship. Not trying to troll, just telling it like it is. Sorry if that offends you.

07-coffee3

Mid year collapse 01-wingedeagle you mean our 11-2 season last year or our current 9 game winning streak?

While last season was an aberration for S. Florida, they were the heavy favorites to win the conference and still managed to let that slip. Every year there's something.
