From what I've read and heard there is no record of a payment to Ayton and the alleged $100K payment might have actually been for Brian Bowen. My neighbor here in Albuquerque is an Arizona grad and he told me that Arizona is divided in that some of the board and boosters think they're too big to fail and that they will get through it, while others want to cut their losses. On a side note Miller actually met with Arizona officials in Albuquerque at a wealthy boosters house before he took the Arizona job.

RE: Appears some bball coaches are going to get arrested
This thing is getting off track. If the feds had enough evidence to arrest the assistants(including Millers/Richardson), and obtain fed wiretap warrant, they have information. Otherwise it would not have come down unless there is a bad judge. There has to be some info. out there regardless. How close it ties Miller to the deal is tbd.

If they fired him without cause, wouldn't Arizona be in breach of contract and owe Miller the full amount?

Not sure if true, but somebody said Miller's contract actually pays him the full amount owed, EVEN IF he is fired for cause lol.
If so, Arizona deserves whats coming to them.

Innocent until proven guilty?
I mean, all of this Miller stuff is fishy at best too. ESPN is the outlet that reported it without a single quote from parties involved or named source, and they initially said the wiretapping was done in Spring of 2017 which was AFTER Ayton had signed...and why would Miller need to pay someone who was already coming there? They then said "No wait...we meant Spring 2016" which was before the warrant to tap phones for this case was granted, so that wouldn't work out either. They've settled on "some time in 2016" which is still a little weird. I'm not saying this didn't happen, just that the story is REALLY goofy and shoddily sourced.
On the purely speculation front, i listened to a CBB podcast speculate that the $100K was to get Miller to steer Ayton to ASM.

Also heard that it wasn't even involving Ayton and that they mis-reported that. It was to try to get Bowen which makes the original timeline correct. That would be interesting ... one kid costing 2 coaches their jobs.

Joint press conference at 12:30 MT with both Miller and U of A ... interesting. Maybe he's resigning?

RE: Appears some bball coaches are going to get arrested
Oh ESPN may have a lot of egg on its face on this one. CBS in their discussion after the press conference right now is highlighting the statement by Miller that the one time he was offered to participate in paying a player, he declined to participate and that player is not at Arizona. They are guessing this may mean Miller was alerted by the FBI that he was caught on wire tap discussing paying a player (i.e., the "one time") and he knows this will eventually come to light. But he will say he was approached about it, but nothing came of it because he declined to participate.
This might jive with the speculation upthread that Miller was actually discussing a different player than Ayton. And perhaps that he was not affirmatively agreeing to participate in the payment - just discussing it. And if this is the case, it may be bad for ESPN.
Will be interesting to see when the lawsuit against ESPN is filed.
Now this is a bet by Miller (and apparently the board who will support him) that there is no other incriminating evidence showing all the other times he participated along with Book Richardson to pay players.

LOOOOVE that podcast...been a Titus fan ever since I was a walk-on myself. That theory kind of gets run out too when you consider that Sean Miller isn't represented by ASM...so...he's got a rival agency trying to bribe him to push players to an agency that he isn't represented by...

I would bet his agency and this rival agency are more connected than we think.
