I guess if I were a fan of a dying athletic program I'd be trolling message boards of conferences said program has zero shot of ever joining as well.

Cool story, Kraplony. The thing is, we only want to join you for the money. Most of our fans dislike most of your schools and the ACC has zero (make that less than zero) ethics. If we don't make the Big Ten cut in six years (which we likely won't - crappy football), I will take being stuck in the AAC. In the long shot that we make the Big Ten, at least that league has a moral compass. If we are still in the AAC (likely) at least the AAC board is fun (this board is WAAAAAAY too uptight and has fewer active members than the AAC board (and 15 to 20% of this league deserves the death penalty). Anyway, Kraplony, don't worry your pretty little head about your obsession that is known as UConn. Even if UConn men's hoop slips up a bit, it will always at least be solid (and the women should dominate for another 15 years).

Looks like the G5 for UConn!

LOL. Cool story bro. Yet here you are pimping your inferior program.

Gonna have to call fabrics on your post.

So I assume you made a call to the Clemson AD to express your extreme displeasure at scheduling a game with UConn. I'll be at the game taking a trip hopefully to see my new home on Lake Murray....and I'd offer to buy you a beer but then again you probably figure my $$ isn't real and green...you get the picture. Just one thing I see you bash CT HS recruiting..where do you think your all world DL Christian Wilkins comes from?

Nah, it doesn't matter who the patsy we bring in for a win is. I'm just glad we are able to help those schools so unfortunate to have to prostitute themselves out for body bag games like UConn.

As for Wilkins, he's from Springfield, Massachusetts.

Wrong about Wilkins there pal..he may have been born in Springfield Ma..but he grew up in CT. I look forward to seeing you in person at the game...that is if you actually even go to games. It must be nice as hell to know that your state is becoming the retirement destination for all of us from the northeast.

Nah, keep driving my property rates up. It'll help in a year or so when I sell out and move out to the country to get away from the annoyance.

Just don't be like the rest of the Yankees who move here and say "Back home we did it like this..." because it'll be quickly pointed out of things were so good up north you would have stayed.

Ahh sorry my bad...it's been 18 yrs since I actually lived in CT..either way you have to live with the fact he played HS football there, was recruited out of there and is listed in your media guide as such:
Before Clemson: No. 21 player and No. 4 defensive tackle in the nation and No. 1 player in Connecticut by Rivals.com ... No. 24 player and No. 6 defensive tackle in the nation and No. 1 player in Connecticut by 247Sports.com (seventh-best signee entering the ACC) ... No. 32 player and No. 6 defensive tackle in the nation and No. 1 player in Connecticut by ESPN ... No. 39 player and No. 6 defensive tackle in the nation and No. 2 player in Connecticut by Scout.com ... had 253 tackles, 69.5 tackles for loss, 28.5 sacks and six recovered fumbles in 35 career games ... had 71 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, eight sacks and four caused fumbles as a senior ... had 57 tackles and 20 tackles for loss as a junior ... had 12 receptions for 209 yards and two touchdowns as a sophomore ... four-year letterman in basketball who averaged 19.9 points and 11.8 rebounds per game as a junior ... recruited by Dan Brooks and Brent Venables ... coached by Andrew Gamere.

Too bad it would be nice to actually meet a keyboard tough guy face to face and share a beer...

Don't worry I'm actually not that stupid...but thanks for the advice
quick question were you even around when Danny Ford and Homer Jordan won the NC for Clemson in 1981?

Three Dozen Programs Could Face Penalties Due to FBI Probe Into Recruiting

https://www.google.com/amp/amp.si.com/co...unishments

"It's not the mid-major programs who were trying to buy players to get to the top," a source told ESPN. "It's the teams that are already there."

From the link:

"So how bad could be it? In terms of NCAA rules, multiple sources told Yahoo Sports that the material obtained threatens the fundamental structure and integrity of the sport, as there’s potentially as many 50 college basketball programs that could end up compromised in some way.

Multiple sources who’ve been briefed on the case and are familiar with the material obtained by feds told Yahoo Sports that the impact on the sport will be substantial and relentless. Sitting under protective order right now are the fruits of 330 days of monitoring activity by the feds, which one assistant US Attorney noted Thursday was “a voluminous amount of material.” That includes wiretaps from 4,000 intercepted calls and thousands of documents and bank records obtained from raids and confiscated computers, including those from notorious NBA agent Andy Miller.

“This goes a lot deeper in college basketball than four corrupt assistant coaches,” said a source who has been briefed on the details of the case. “When this all comes out, Hall of Fame coaches should be scared, lottery picks won’t be eligible to play and almost half of the 16 teams the NCAA showed on its initial NCAA tournament show this weekend should worry about their appearance being vacated.”

Buckle up peeps ... sh!t's about to get real.

So about half of these teams should be worried?

https://www.google.com/amp/s/articles.cl...op_nca.amp

Right now, the top four seeds according to the committee are: Virginia, Purdue, Villanova and Xavier.

Auburn, Duke, Kansas and Cincinnati are No. 2 seeds.

Clemson, Texas Tech, North Carolina and Michigan State are No. 3 seeds and Arizona, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Ohio State are four seeds.

Well, we KNOW Auburn is in this mess. Chuck Person was arrested. So there's 1.

Ditto Arizona ... they had an assistant coach arrested too. There's 2.

Kansas seems to be solidly associated with the characters already named -- the agent especially, Miller. His client list is a who's who of former Jayhawk players. There's 3.

Michigan State to a lesser degree is like Kansas. There's 4.

4 more gets you to half the 16 top seeds. I'd guess Villanova, Xavier, Duke and Oklahoma. But these are just guesses.

Regardless .. 8 of the top 16 is a pretty big hit.

The money comes from the shoe companies, and not the schools. So whether Cincy has money or not is irrelevant.

Switching from Adidas to Under Armour in the summer of 2015 perhaps helps, but to think Under Armour is completely clean would be a little naïve.

For 50 schools to potentially be caught up in this, with the select few individuals that the FBI has in their grasp indicates that this is systemic. And probably way more common than not.

....And has been for decades. Maybe not always with shoe money, but in one form or another. And all of it with the NCAA turning a blind eye to the sport that pays its bills and lines their endowment.

FBI investigation into Basketball corruption.
The latest as Yahoo obtains copies of the records taken from an agents computer.

http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketb...ncaa-rules

Schools identified by Yahoo! as having players who possibly violated NCAA rules include Duke, North Carolina, Texas, Kentucky, Michigan State, USC and Kansas. At least 25 players are linked to impermissible benefits, including Michigan State's Miles Bridges, Alabama's Collin Sexton and Duke's Wendell Carter.

***

At least six players were identified in the documents as receiving payments exceeding $10,000. They include Dallas Mavericks point guard Dennis Smith Jr., who received $73,500 in loans from ASM before he played for NC State; Brooklyn Nets shooting guard Isaiah Whitehead, who received more than $37,000 around the time he was a freshman at Seton Hall; and 2017 No. 1 NBA draft pick Markelle Fultz, who received $10,000.

Other teams with current or former players who allegedly received payments were South Carolina, Louisville, Utah, Xavier, Wichita State, Clemson and Alabama. Other players named include former LSU guard Tim Quarterman, former Maryland center Diamond Stone and former Kentucky center Edrice "Bam" Adebayo.

So, counting Louisville that makes 4 ACC schools (including all 3 from Triangle!) and non-ACC blue bloods Kentucky, Mich. St. and Kansas. It also includes SEC teams SC, Alabama and LSU.

BIG FISH!

How did they circumvent compliance? After all, if anyone, they should have known. Is there a compliance officer conference that Universities attend?

So, counting Louisville that makes 4 ACC schools (including all 3 from Triangle!) and non-ACC blue bloods Kentucky, Mich. St. and Kansas. It also includes SEC teams SC, Alabama and LSU.

BIG FISH!

How did they circumvent compliance? After all, if anyone, they should have known. Is there a compliance officer conference that Universities attend?

And this is from only 1 agents computer. How manny sports agents are there?

Schools identified by Yahoo! as having players who possibly violated NCAA rules include Duke, North Carolina, Texas, Kentucky, Michigan State, USC and Kansas. At least 25 players are linked to impermissible benefits, including Michigan State's Miles Bridges, Alabama's Collin Sexton and Duke's Wendell Carter.

How would the school know that a player got money before they were even enrolled at the school? Do you really think that they would say yes if they point blank asked them?

Another question. If someone has the potential to make millions of dollars in a few years why would it be illegal for someone to make them a loan? I mean I know they want the contract to work as their agent when they turn pro and I know that the shoe company wants them to wear their shoes but is that an illegal quad pro quo? They don't have to sign with them or wear their shoes. They will easily be able to pay back the loans if they go pro. It would just be a business risk.

UPDATE to the UPDATE:
Duke, Michigan State and Kentucky are the three most visible programs that have had their program connected ...to potential NCAA violations involving ex-NBA agent Andy Miller and a former employee, Christian Dawkins.

...All three programs have denied wrongdoing.

“Duke immediately reviewed the matter and, based on the available information, determined there are no eligibility issues related to today’s report,” read a statement released by Duke AD Kevin White.

FBI investigation into Basketball corruption.
Arizona coach Sean Miller caught on wiretap with Dawkins discussing $100k payment to ensure star freshman Deandre Ayton signed with the Wildcats.

http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketb...estigation

FBI wiretaps intercepted telephone conversations between Arizona coach Sean Miller and Christian Dawkins, a key figure in the FBI's investigation into college basketball corruption, in which Miller discussed paying $100,000 to ensure star freshman Deandre Ayton signed with the Wildcats, sources familiar with the government's evidence told ESPN.

According to people with knowledge of the FBI investigation, Miller and Dawkins, a runner working for ASM Sports agent Andy Miller, had multiple conversations about Ayton. When Dawkins asked Miller if he should work with assistant coach Emanuel "Book" Richardson to finalize their agreement, Miller told Dawkins he should deal directly with him when it came to money, the sources said.

The telephone calls between Miller and Dawkins were among 3,000 hours of conversations intercepted from Dawkins' phone by the FBI.
