RE: Big Ten Rivalries
Penn State and Maryland date back to 1917 and have played 41 times. They played 38 times prior to Maryland joining the B-10. Penn State leads the series 38-2-1.

Penn State and Rutgers have played 28 times dating back to 1918. They play 25 times prior to Rutgers joining the B-10. Penn State leads the series 26-2.

Maryland and Rutgers first played in 1920. Surprisingly they have only played 13 times with 10 of those meetings prior to both schools joining the B-10. Maryland leads the series 7-6.

These three schools have great potential for rivalries between them now that all three are in the B-10. 04-cheers

RE: Big Ten Rivalries
In basketball, Iowa and Illinois have a long history of hatred, that really heated up in the late 1980's when Bruce Pearl was a Hawkeye assistant and Pearl secretly recorded a recruit that chose ILL over Iowa. Pearl asked the recruit if he was given a car by ILL.. The recruit basicly said yeah sure, now leave me alone. Which could be interpreted many different ways.
