I would have to believe that Houston fans might be better off with Caption Jack then Major Applewhite after the last game. Why he disses 5 star QBs, not giving a long enough look, I'll never know. It's not like 5 star (or 4 star QBs) will come knocking at your door in the future if you treat them in such a way.

Don't mean to defend Applewhite here but every head coach have their own way in running or calling their shots.

I think everyone should step back and see what he does this season.

Given the players we had returning and our schedule, yes...nine wins this season was a reasonable goal. The fact that we aren't going to even sniff that many W's is entirely due to poor coaching.

Well it was a little round-a-bout but I think my question was answered.

If UH can't win 9+ every year the coach should be fired.

Two things.

1.The Cougars are not beating Memphis.
2. I advise the Cougars to keep Major Applewhite away from the coeds until he is fired.

No way on earth Houston loses to ECU or Tulane.. So bowl game is a lock and Major " ***** Hound" Applewhite will return.

Please tulane will destroy us and applewhite will find a way to lose to ecu. Tillman said before the season began applewhite had to win 8 games or he was gone.

No one wants applewhite anymore, and making the toliet bowl wont change that. Heck alot of people would be happy if don’t make a bowl because that will be one less game we get embarrassed.

Didn't say that. I said this team, with this group of players and this schedule, could reasonably have been expected to win 9 games.

The answer to your leading question is "no". Down years are going to happen. Usually such years are the result of some combo of players lost to graduation, a tough schedule and injuries. That is not the case in 2017. There is more than enough talent on hand, the schedule is relatively easy, and overall we've been fairly healthy. The main reason we're having a disappointing season lies in the fact that our offensive coaches just aren't very good at their jobs.

Just give him chance and lets see what happens whats the worst that could happen!!!
