Memphis has no shot.....it will either be Boston or Atlanta as they will want an operation on east coast time to counter their Seattle west coast time hq

Agreed. Local news is hyping it up for clicks and views(shocker I know). We have no chance. It's not coming here. When I first heard they were looking for a second HQ, Boston was the first city that came to mind. Chicago and D.C. make sense as well.

I don’t think we have enough hotel rooms downtown which is a criteria the NBA has in place for cities that want to host it

Austin is the ideal place for th HQ2. Aside from Memphis I hope it goes there. I live close by. Our home values will double within 5 years maybe Sooner.

I'd love it here in Memphis, but I think the D.C. area may win out at the end of the day.

Location-wise, Memphis is a great logistics/distribution location for moving goods and products. The infrastructure in land(roads), air and water (Mississippi River) system rivals nearly any city in the continental United States. I believe it was said that nearly 40% of the U.S. can be reached through shipping the next day via Memphis; 70% of America in two days. But alas I doubt Amazon would come here

I don't think Memphis is a consideration for Amazon, though it probably should.

However, I wouldn't want Amazon anywhere near the Mid-South. Whomever gets it will be worse off for it.

Why would a city be worse off with thousands of high paying jobs ? One of the things they are looking for though is a talented labor pool. I don't think they will believe we meet that criteria.

I think they'll heavily consider Kansas City - four senators for the price of two.

Having Amazon in Memphis would be a benefit to Arkansas. Their elected officials would certainly know that, as would Mississippi's.
