Hope we win at least 5 of those 7 games.

I think 5 of these 7 is the floor here. Reasonably, the only game they could lose is @ GSU. UNCG is a nice program, but at home should be a W. They could actually win all 7 of these. We may have 10+ wins non-con before we get to Big South play, depending on the New Orleans games. How awesome would that be? We could be looking at a 22-23 win reg season.

5/7 would be good. There are some decent teams on that list equal to where Liberty is competitively now. I’d say there are only 4 “sure” wins- TFU, KCU, Howard and MDES. The rest, if we play good games, we can win.

I think the game tonight is on par for where I expect us as a program. A 20 point win and always having a comfortable lead was good.

RE: 2017-2018 Basketball Season
I was looking at a preview of the UNCG game on ASOR and this thought came to mind. I can’t wait for the days when beating UNCG is no longer a big deal or a measuring stick to where our program is. Rather I want UNCG to be considered a warm up game or schedule filler before our UNC game. Or we play IPFW as a warm up before IU, or KY Christian is simply an exhibition until we play Kentucky. I look toward the days of the smaller schools to be sure wins and our challenges to come against the traditional college powers. I want us to be the next Gonzaga.

Is it just me, or does the Wake Forest win remind you of our Baylor win during football. It kind of got our hopes up for bigger things than our team was ready to deliver?

It was kinda of like fools gold. Yesterdays’ loss was tough to take.
Georgia St. is a key game to judge the progression of our program.

Heartbreaking loss to UNC-Greensboro. Had our chances to win but couldn't. Hope we right the ship. We have been looking good this year.

Huge win over Georgia State! Our guys must have been tired from the triple overtime game a few nights before and to play another overtime game right afterwards is rough. It's always fun to beat Sun Belt schools but our target is much higher than them.

It is true that was a good win for the MBB program. And it is a little sweeter to beat SBC teams with their position of declining LU's desire to be a member. And LU will be much better off as an indy rather than a member of the SBC, now and especially in the future.

So... do we blow out UMES or do we come back to earth and squeak out a close win?

I think we'll have a comfortable win, anywhere from 12-25 points. I'm looking for more PT for guys like Talbert. It'd be great if he could be that third option at forward. Isaiah and Scottie have established as the 2 main forwards and are SUCH great additions. They have been major difference makers this year. We need to get Talbert or McDowell on track in games like this.

Definite double-digit win. No overtime for this game. Really happy with the progress of our basketball team.

If we don't win by 20 it's a loss.

The more I watch this team the better I feel about how it plays. As one of McKay's initial non supporters, I like what he does in progressing the team. Even though this is a marsh mellow schedule, I've give him this year to excel before I let out some cat calls.

RE: 2017-2018 Basketball Season
Well, that was a nice scrimmage against KCU. Does that win even count? We should never play a team like this unless it’s a preseason scrimmage, and certainly not this deep into the schedule and count it in our win column. Yes, I want us to be playing teams from my home state if Kentucky, but this isn’t what I had in mind for a regular season game.

Look, I get it. We’re still building our program. Coach McKay knows what he’s doing. I am just being impatient. I want our OOC SOS to reflect a team that could earn an at large bid to the NCAA tournament. I know we are not even close to being there yet, but KCU doesn’t bring us closer to that goal in my opinion.

When people think Liberty, I want them to view us in the same competitive group as Gonzaga or Wichita St.

I agree. When I first saw our schedule, I thought it was a joke after winning over 20 games last year and doing so well in the postseason. We are growing and improving and deserve to play tougher opponents to further grow and improve. I haven't kept up with our attendance over the whole season but when I do happen to look what it was, it's unimpressive and pretty sad based on how good the team is and part of the blame can be at who we're playing. Us fans need to do a better job of attending the games (for all sports), especially when we have a good product on the court/field but we aren't doing ourselves any favors by scheduling non-DI auto wins. Being in the Big South isn't attractive so we need to up the non-conference portion to add some sizzle.
