Yep crazy, however this maybe our most important game yet in rivalry...We are actually both playing for something...A bowl game.....Most seasons its earlier in season and not this late when we have met....

From a Middle Tennessee perspective I think it's because many of us are infected with Stockstill-fatigue. The enthusiasm is just gone. At least that's where I'm personally coming from.

I think many of us have moved on to hoops.........

The bowl games out of the continental USA haven't helped (and the lopsided bowl losses in general)

Stockstill being back has us on an uptick, however. I would be at the game if it weren't for an event I must attend with my daughter.

It's because usually at least one, if not both teams are in contention for the division title.

Weather looks good tonight with temps not too bad in mid 50s, however will be windy, might effect Stockhurt more since White has a stronger arm that can get through the wind....Either way will not be 10k there tonight, apparently everyone in Bowling Green is going to go watch high school football and see the Purples beat the Titans again by 40+....I really don't understand the mindset of most people in Bowling Green when it comes to sports, I never will...

I’m not going to blame a single person for going to a high school playoff game on Friday night over the WKU game. For most of the high school players, it could be their last game of organized football they ever play and most fans personally know a lot of the players on the field. College football should never take Friday nights away from high school, especially during the playoffs.

Really? Same could be said for WKU's 19 seniors....How many high school fans are there in BG? Wow didn't know BG KY morphed into Texas high school football all of the sudden.....BG will destroy South Warren like they did 3 weeks ago, same game....

Did you play high school football? Do you have family members or friends that do? Do you follow and cheer for a local high school football team?

The "local boys" will always come before college athletics. Every time. No matter the projected score or level of play. And that's the way it should be. Friday is for high school football.

I would never attend a high school game over a college football game. That's lame. High school is for close friend and family and teenage girls who want to walk around and believe they are important. Any grown fellow who doesn't have a direct tie to the HS game needs to have his man card checked if that's his choice.

I agree completely with this statement.

But you don’t know Bowling Green. The BGHS alumni (I’m one but don’t count in this) tie their social standing in BGHS athletics. It’s a blue blood group that live and die by the Purples (their athletics persona) and UK athletics. They are a miniature caricature of UK fans. The true blue bloods send all their kids to UK. The wannabes kids go to Western. But deep down they all bleed blue. Western is their fallback team. Lots of them attend Western games but they will not miss the Purples football game for a Western game. These people are socially stunted.

They are playing what has become the county power school tonight. This school is less than 10 years old. But the county district gerrymandered their school lines worse than North Carolina Republicans do to get all the athletes that used to attend the former County Power, Warren Central. They’ve done very well in their short time as a school but have yet to have the horses to beat the traditional City Power (that is known as one of the recruitingest schools in the state.)

This matchup is equivalent to The Greasers vs. The Socs.

Stay Gold Ponyboy.

There will be TONS of folks at the high school game tonight. There will not be TONS of folks at the Western game.

Awkward. I guess that's what happens when only half the state gets post-high school education and only 20% or so get a college degree.

It's not all that different in Tenn. I remember when I played high school ball the old men who lined the fence around the field and acted like they knew who we were, but had no real connection to the team (other than maybe they used to wear that HS uniform too). I thought it was sad then. I guess I still do.

This game is the battle of mediocrity epitomized. WKU had high hopes with the soft schedule and Mike White back at the helm but injuries, a listless running game, and Sanford's questionable play calling have put a damper on 2017. I'm sure Middle has similar sentiments with Stockstill and James missing most of the season and some disappointing performances. Not sure what to expect but hopefully a decent game and a decent crowd.

I'm a BGHS grad also and I will be there tonight.....leaving in about 15 minutes for my 70 mile drive.

There as in the HOUCH!

If not for stopping by my sisters house first I would Wait till about 10 till 6 to leave for my hour drive. Don't think it will be much problem in getting into the parking garage

Tops by 7 first half and Middle by 21 in the 2nd

That would be my strategy to start at least, White is not very mobile and the running game is inept usually. Not sure how Sanford would react.
All the weather forecast I see for BG calls for just cloudy and windy, no rain until Saturday.

I say he would keep running even if it doesn't work.
I think the definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over expecting to have different results each time.

Why do you think we will win? It is a national TV game, though it isn't a home game the chances are still good that we will lay an egg.

In my opinion the ONLY highlight of our season is the win at Syracuse.

Wonder how badly we will lose? If we play like we have through the first quarter, it will be 42-0... gotta get it together, on both sides of the ball. Stockstill seems off.
