Wow, advice from one of the nouveaux riche -- one who has not only forgotten his recent, humble origins but is also adept at sweeping a very checkered history under the rug. Being so uppity is unbecoming when you consider the endemic culture of cheating that got U of L its ticket to the promised land.

And Michigan State comes out of NOWHERE to romp the field, reminiscent of Secretariat in the Belmont.

Yeah....Pretty Much....The NCAA & East Lansing Literally did a Hold my Beer...But still funny that our old C-USA Mates from the late 90s still Remember UofL

After BoT's bullying of Tom Jurich was exposed, they fire law group that got caught.

https://www.courier-journal.com/story/sp...087406001/

I would say this is Postel's doing but this, as many things, is way over his head. He is a pawn and a puppet. The real question is who/who all are controlling the strings.

Vince Tyra is a good dude. He has been charged with negotiating some contracts for several Olympic sports coaches. Gotta be tough. My fear is he is gonna get dragged down with Grissom Postel and some members of the BoT’s. Gotta feel for Paul Rogers as well.

RE: UofL fighting back!
Circular Confirmation is a practice that should be investigated regarding the University of Louisville.

You have the Kentucky Sports Radical, local radio contracts and employees, ESPN and those influential people in the City of Louisville who view UofL as a tool and means to an end.

You mix in money, Politics, media and agenda and you have captured our cluster!

From the link:

Quote:"It is ironic to hire a private investigator to pursue allegations that simply do not exist," Jurich said. "In fact, the implication of an allegation (of sexual harassment) is a bold lie. It is shocking and shameful that someone associated with the University of Louisville has hired a private investigator to pursue a witch hunt against me. The University of Louisville has attempted to destroy my reputation over the last six months; the same University in which my family and I gave twenty years of faithful service."

What an epic clusterfluck the handling of this is. What an embarrassment.

I don't know how anyone can have any confidence in the current leadership to lead the university in the right direction, in an "ethical" direction.

Does Mark still work for the University? I haven’t heard. I know he was there a month or so ago.

How telling that the investigators went right to the media for leads. I know the Courier Journal has reported they were approached. I wonder if they only went to the print media. I guess we will have to let that cake bake.

I believe he is still there which I find surprising.

How do you think a potential AD candidate views this situation? I think the universities actions has severally limited the pool. Why would another top AD consider the UofL when it has shown unscrupulous behavior towards a widely successful employee of whom the interim president that oversaw his dismissal had highly praised just the month before? Was Postel & Grissom jealous of all of the bad publicity that Michigan State was getting?

Mark was fired today. Not sure if it was by Tyra or not. Had to be though, right?

I can't argue with you there. These are the same people who complained about the lack of oversight & transparency with the last administration, they are actively working to restrict both even further. They talk about bringing integrity back to the university & yet are immersed in a slander campaign against the person of who has done the most for the university in its history. They have presented no plan for the future or publicly state even a direction for the university to move forward with. Punxsutawney Postel only comes out to do an interview about how he wants to be the president & its all about him & NOT the university. Postel & Grissom remaining hidden doesn't install confidence into the fans & alums & that is why donations are reportedly done 70%. They may be good people but they aren't providing the type of leadership that this university desperately needs at this point in time.

And for you ACC fans wanting to hear about the state of the UofL, our hired AD, Vince Tyra has a news conference at 5:30. I don't have a link to it but I'm sure the link provided will lead you to a source covering it.

UofL fighting back!
UofL Interim AD Tyra announces some AD restructuring at a news conference on Thursday, before the GT basketball game at the Yum. He also updated the PJCS expansion & stated that the actual seating expansion is actually closer to 6000 instead of the 10000 reported earlier. 5,171 chair-back seats, that includes 1,492 seats in the lower deck, 272 Loge seats, 357 at Club level and 446 at the Mezzanine level, plus 2,564 in the upper deck and 40 ADA and companion seats throughout the expansion.

Also as part of the restructuring, he cut his own salary by $350,000 & fired 3 people from within the AD which included Tom Jurich son Mark. Those being let go included senior associate athletic director Mark Jurich and associate athletic directors Julianne Waldron and Kim Maffett. The salaries of Jurich ($154,260), Waldron ($151,368) and Maffett ($180,200) total $485,828.

UofL men's soccer coach Ken Lolla has been signed to a 5 year extension with enhancements. Also signing extensions are volleyball coach Dani Busboom Kelly and women’s soccer coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes.

Tyra also said that he would be comfortable in hiring the next basketball coach, interim or not.

Fair summation. Wish VT would have acknowledged how much Mark and the others secured for the University. Everybody hates the top producers!
I agree UofL is a top ACC program no matter the qualifications or experience of the AD so the self compensation pay cut is a nice gesture if it wasn't built in from the beginning. Whether it's VT or somebody else (I personally hope we hire a female permanent AD) proof in the pudding is retaining a high level coach when suitors come a calling. Especially if they are bonafide!

Seating capacity "reveal" was just a knock on reputation. TJ was an"exaggerator" right?
Very fair and while VT has been involved in UofL decision making for a long time I think he is doing an admirable job given the task he was charged with.

Without knowing the specifics for his decision as to who to let go & without knowing the credentials of everyone within the AD, I do find it odd that the two highest ranked women in the AD & Mark were the ones selected. Waldron & Maffett were up for the interim AD title, or at least should have been. From what I hear, Mark was going to resign at the end of the school year anyway so why the rush there? Generally I think VT is doing a good job but I think you're right that the proof will be in the pudding. I do think this announcement tells us about the level of a DC Bobby was able to go after with the cuts to the AD budget.

They may need it as Duke, NC, NC State & even Clemson are mentioned in the latest Yahoo article on the FBI probe.
