Well you of all people know you can't say dick riders on here. So it has to be said in more subtle ways.

Creativity is it's own reward my friend.

BTW, I had never even heard the original song. Oh my god, lol.

Really?!!
Where does a perspective coach buy out a previous coach's contract then gets hired by program to coach its team?
Where They Do That At?!
Some folks on this board are delusional!

Agree...some folks on this board need some prospective.
Thanks for the correction. I'm not mad about it, we all make mistakes from time to time. At least my word spelling mistake, isn't costing the University of Memphis millions of dollars for making the wrong basketball coach hire.

You cheated me out of a trivia contest.

And gave it to some guy in New Jersey.

We squeak by some of the worst teams in D-1, in our home arena. Yet some of you want to say we are "improving"

Tonight we lose to the team who is picked to finish dead last in the SEC....in our home arena by DOUBLE DIGITS

The SEC plays 18 conference games. I wonder how we would fare in the SEC if we can't beat the last team in the conference at home?

Would we go 0-18? Maybe we would catch a couple of breaks and go 1-17 or 2-16?

This is the worst excuse for a Memphis Tiger basketball team I have ever seen.

Please boosters, come up with the money, get creative and get someone in here who can salvage this once proud program!

If they made me a mod, you know what I would do?

You would probably get suckered into giving your password to Easterwood and he would violate you like a prison princess again.

Should have hired Scott Drew when we had the chance, but we scared him off and hired boy wonder instead. A few years later and we are in the cellar of the AAC.

However, barring a late season collapse like last year, I (FWIW) give Tubby one more year to prove his worth under the below conditions:
1. We should explore the viability of forcing Tubby to hire competent assistants before next season. My guess is he will quit rather than see his son and loyal staff let go.
2. Establish and enforce performance standards for next season. The standards are an NCAA Tourney bid and a roster capable of sustainable success.

And how does that go when he says “I’m not gonna fire my son or long time assistants”. I would think Minnesota tried that approach prior to firing him

IMO before ruling it out, we should perform due diligence to determine if it is a feasible option. In fact, all creative ways to make Tubby uncomfortable should be investigated for legality and cost/benefit.

Tubby has quit in the past (e.g., KY) rather than face contentious opposition. I surmise he is open to a settlement given his age and wealth.
I find it hard to believe Tubby would ... agree ... to change any coaches.
He's here till we fire him or he retires. We hired the wrong basketball coach.
And it's 15-16 months at the earliest before a new one might be hired. We got no shooters ... and the best zone buster we had took his ball and moved to Kansas. I expect Tubby to pull a couple of shooters out of his hat this spring. If he can't ... that's a foot out the door ... until then ...
FIRE TUBBY THREADS ARE A WASTE OF TIME.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but ACs are employees of the university and can be fired. We may have to pay off their contract, but Memphis has the final say.

It is a good task for enterprising reporters reading these posts to undertake.
