That said, it is in Wichita. That place should be rocking about the best it has in a few years, and that is saying something because the atmosphere is always good.

Being that you live in Dallas I’m guessing you will go to the game in Houston?

SMU usually has a pretty loud and good sized crowd for it’s games there and it helps. Plenty of good seats available.

I am certainly considering it. Definitely cheap enough. Plus I could see some friends I haven't seen in a while. (I was born in Spring TX)

Would love to go to the game at SMU in February also, but I don't know that I want to spend the $240 or so it would take for me to get 3 tickets lol. Plus my daughter has a big cheer competition at the convention center that weekend. Not sure I could break away for it without getting in trouble from the "boss" lol.

You and Bearcats#1 are practicing for the Justin Bieber competition right?

Bieber Fever...catch it

Bieber's got nothing on us. We're more on Justin Timberlake's level.

Ha, yes, you are correct. I do seem to exaggerate sometimes (even though I have never been to Paris). 01-france01-france01-france01-france01-france

On a side note, did not see above that the Shockers will have a THREE colored stands tonight to mark the AAC home debut. Should be neat to see.

Gray has been in a bad shooting funk lately, I hope he snaps out of it, but I think it has a lot to do with the defenses guarding him tight lately, he just doesn't look comfortable, and then he tries to do too much to compensate. Personally, I could do without his Harden-esque arm flailing when he doesn't get a foul call on his drives.

Fortunately, the rest of the team has been stepping up their game so Gray's missing points haven't cost us a game yet. He may go off, but by now it's hard to imagine he'll go off per se, but rather just do better than he did last time (which wouldn't take much).

Our inside game is the big question mark, and I think if Brady isn't ready to go, it will be a long night for the Coogs. I admit I haven't seen WSU's front line, but I already know ours isn't so big with Brady out.

RE: 1/4 AAC Basketball Games
At 12-2 and 2-0 in conference the Coogs are playing with house money tonight. They can afford a tough road loss to the Shockers but a win obviously would be a tremendous boost to their resume. Brady will be a game time decision but I doubt he sees the court tonight. Ultimately this game is more about finding out how we match up against elite competition. So far Wake Forest has beaten Syracuse, Arkansas has beaten Tennessee, and LSU nearly beat Kentucky. So the teams we've played in the non-conf all look pretty competitive. This is an opportunity to show we are as well. Can't wait, go Coogs!

Our front line isn't necessarily tall. They don't really play above the rim at all.

Shaq is a wall when he is dialed in. Also leads the team in blocked shots a 2bpg. Hard to move and get around, does get off of his feet well for such a big guy. Shaq is 6'8" but 270lbs.

Willis is 6'9" but more of an offensive threat than a defensive one. He does rebound pretty good (2nd on the team)

Nurger is 6'10" and was doing pretty good earlier in the season but hasn't been as effective lately. He tends to do better against teams that have a traditional center. He doesn't do well when he has to guard at the perimeter against a good shooting center or an undersized center. Doesn't have the foot speed to guard smaller/quicker guys. If he stays in the paint he can be a handful.

Those are the only guys that will see time at Center with Willis also getting time at the 4.

Being an east coaster now I’ve only been to a couple of meaningless OOC games at new Moody. But the opportunity to see WSU/SMU there.... or at Koch.... would be worth a ton of sacrifice. Find a way! Hopefully our streak will still be on the line then.

All Gray needs is a new doo. Unfortunately Brady looks done for awhile. It will be an interesting test for both teams. Totally digging the 3 color thing.

This year Temple has wins over two top 31 kenpom teams (Auburn and Clemson). They also have 3 more wins over top 70 kenpom teams (Old Dominion, South Carolina and Wisconsin).

Of course they throw in losses to LaSalle and GW (130 and 176 kenpom respectively). They have 3 other losses to NIT/possible NCAA bubble teams and an additional loss to Villanova.

Last season Temple lost to freaking ECU twice... had several sub 100 kenpom losses... Basically got trucked in the conference, but somehow managed to beat top 4 seeded teams in Florida State and West Virginia.

Talent is there, but there's just a lack of fight instilled in them, which is thanks to a loser coaching staff.

True freshman Nate Pierre-Louis is the only one who gives a ****, and he's starting to get minutes, and hopefully will start soon. He should be playing 25+ MPG.

Obi hasn't improved after a miserable year last year.
Our big men all suck.
Rose is probably the most physically talented player at Temple, but he doesn't know what he's doing often, and is prone to not giving full effort. He floats around way too much and just shoots jumpers.

Dunphy is too much of a moron to realize that our best lineup is 4G, 1F.

I am curious as to how well the white will play in. Kind of hard to find white Shocker gear. I do believe some places have carried a little more due to this game.

They did the yellow/black thing a while back and that looked amazing.

Well UC typically brings the best out in Temple, so I'm expecting a close game. Not sure Temple has an answer for Gary Clark though...

Lines tonight are:

WSU -10
Cin - 7.5
SMU - 8.5

Seems fairly reasonable. I do feel all 3 of the favored teams will win. But it is conference play....you never know.

RE: 1/4 AAC Basketball Games
If the favored teams win I believe it will be:

Tulsa - (3-0)
SMU - (3-0)
Wichita State - (2-0)
Cincy - (2-0)
Houston - (2-1)
UCF - (2-1)
Tulane - (2-1)
ECU - (1-2)
Memphis - (0-2)
UConn - (0-2)
Temple - (0-3)
USF - (0-3)

Looks about as expected. I still think UConn will move up a couple spots and Tulsa down a few spots. UConn had a fairly tough first 2 games. WSU and then Tulsa on the road where they haven't won.

Surprise is probably Temple and Tulane kind of being swapped.

As far as Temple goes we'll see some regression to the mean. Shots will fall, maybe even in bunches. That could result in some defensive intensity in kind of a reverse-correlative sort of way.

Bet 1 farm on Temple to cover because... statistics.

I also predict an outright victory because... Cecil.

He does. Needs to get a little smoother finishing at the rim, but he has a lot of potential. His defensive intensity is pretty unreal for a true freshman. Rest of the team is just bored and going through the motions.
