I agree. When WSU gets to the NCAA tourney they will be battle tested and primed for a deep run. When you play teams like UConn, Cincy, Memphis, Temple, Houston, UCF, Tulsa, etc night in and night out...you have to get good real quick.

I also think they'll be 'shocked' to see they'll get a quality seed...like a 6 seed instead of a 9-10 seed.

Agreed. That is the hope anyways.

Now you know what you need help with and can work on it

I was looking and realized that if you were doing a blind resume, it is very scary territory for WSU right now.

WSU has some huge games coming up...plenty of chances left to make a statement.

There is expected opportunity to put some wins together, but will it be too late? Will thier struggles the past two weaks dampen excitement of SMU’s win @WSU?

We could still get hot and stack some wins, and possibly be a 4 bid conference. Could we also struggle, diminish those resume wins and leave Cincy and Tourney champion as only bids?

Scary for what? Scary for a high seed, but not a decent seed.

WSU is 6-4 vs top 100 and 2-2 vs Top 50 with lots of opportunities to improve upon that. (That's RPI and not the Tier 1,2,3.) All but one of our remaining games is vs a top 100 RPI team. The only exception is #113 Tulsa. (This RPI is based on ESPN. http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketb...eamId/2724 )

I don't think any WSU fan thought we would waltz thru the AAC. Obviously we thought it was a better league or we wouldn't have been excited to join it. I do think some AAC fans discount the MVC a bit too much. Road games at UNI, Missouri State, Ill State were always tough, for example.

I still believe WSU will be competing for the regular season championship. I do not think we will lost both road games @Cincy and @SMU.

Beat who they should and WSU should be fine. But they’re just a bad loss or two from being very nervous on selection Sunday. That’s simply the reality. Fans in the AAC and the prior CUSA have been tracking this for years.

Hmm okay. WSU doesn't have any bad losses. And if we lose any of our remaining games, none of them will be "bad." The might be the biggest difference between AAC and MVC. The MVC was a landmine of possible bad losses. Unexpected losses always happen in Conference play.

You guys are going to be fine. Every game yall have left is against quality opponents. Go at least 7-4 (Which yall can do easily), add a first round win in the conference tourney, and yall are in.

Never said the did. Just said that with their resume they can’t afford any. Fortunately, there aren’t too many left at this point.

I only see yall losing @Cincy @SMU and maybe @UCF or at home against Cincy. Yall just hit a little snag, happens to everybody. The sky isn't falling. Marshall is a good coach, he'll get the guys back in the gym and get them refocused.

Probable? I think 7-4 is probable, at worst. I see 2 losses, 1 likely loss, and 2 likely Ws, but let's say you lose one of those (@ Temple or @ Memphis).

Where are more losses coming? UCF or Tulsa at home? Nope. UConn or Temple or Tulane at home? Nope. At UCF w/o Tacko? Nope.

So, 7-4 + 5-2 = 12-6 overall. And, you are perfectly capable of winning out, less maybe at UC.

UH and SMU have 5 top 50 out of conference wins. ND and OSU have two.

ND and OSU would roll Houston and SMU. If we played ND and OSU again they would roll us too. We are unwell.

A week ago, y'all Shocktop fans thought you'd roll UH and SMU, didn't ya? Aw... go ahead, just admit it. But at the same time, just also admit you were wrong about that.

And since you were so wrong about what ya'll would do to UH, why on earth should we believe in what you think ND or OSU would do to UH or SMU?

03-drunk

You couldn't be more wrong. All I heard after WSU destroyed Houston was how this would just make the return game harder.

Of course the return game was expected to be harder. But an honest vote from Shocker Nation (even the Chicken Little Mid-Major contingent) would not have voted us a loss. The average estimate would have been a high single/low double-digit victory.

Self-deprecatory time travel to cover one's tracks in the face of a painful defeat is the epitome of cowardice.

We played bad, we got hammered, we lost. DEAL WITH IT!

Do you think 1,000+ fans took the short 10 hr. trip to Houston because they expected to be entertained by a hard fought loss? 07-coffee3

Exactly how I see it. WSU fans are manic. They get way too high after a win and way to low after a loss. When UH played @their place, that was the best looking team I've seen all year. They could have beaten us by 40 that night.

The conference scheduling philosophy is that, before the season, they decide which teams are the top half, and they make sure those 6 play each other H & H, to keep RPIs up, and give the best teams a chance at more quality wins.

They also tend to backload those, to play them in the last 10 games or so.

That means the expected top teams are going to play each other a lot in the last part of the season, and some of the teams in the middle or just below catch a bit of a break, b/c they aren't expected to go anywhere.
