St. John's is only 12-13, but TEN (10!) of those 13 losses are against the RPI Top 50.

Them and Temple are the two teams where their record does not indicate actual program strength.

Eh, you are what your record says you are. If they were good, they'd have at least a few wins out of those ten losses. As a matter of fact, three more wins and they'd be in the field.

actually they're only 11-13 as one of their 12 wins was vs a d2 school- so doesn't count. 3 more wins and they'd be right on the bubble though at 14-10.

No team is a clear favorite for the championship this season it's showing. Villanova, Duke, Michigan State, and Purdue just seem to play oddly enough at times to take the spotlight off themselves. And I really thought Nova was the front-runner. Not after those two losses. Maybe Virginia is the real deal?

Nova, Purdue, and Auburn all go down. Seton Hall throws Marquette a bone, and Creighton barely escapes a winner in Chicago. SEC is just nuts (but it may finally be safe to cross off Georgia). Virginia Tech and Kansas State both pick up valuable wins. Penn State is creeping up the Big Ten...after their next game at Illinois, though, it's a death march, but, win a few of those, and now the resume is more difficult to overlook?

Nevada chokes at home to UNLV.

Rhodie is #5 in RPI. Still only 2-3 versus Group 1, and 6-3 versus Groups 1 & 2. Rhodie's company is among those with as many or more games (9) with just Group 1.

Rhode Island, who could possibly not lose another game until the NCAAT, could break Top 3. Yet, who even sees them as a top 3 seed-line team? A10 is doing what it is best at with parity within the conference...if Rhodie gets AQ, A10 is one of the one-bid conferences.

The Wolf Pack might be in some trouble. Their leading scorer didn't play last night and is out indefinitely with a foot injury.

And that's frightening, IMO. That the Mountain West team to beat loses a guy, and, with a schedule that still includes a game at Boise, both games with SDSU, and a return trip to Vegas...it's not enviable. This could go south very quickly, and I wouldn't call them a lock...though that Rhodie win could go pretty far.

It doesn't mean a sure thing now for Boise, either. UNR possibly dropping off near the end makes the AQ bid all the more valuable, and perhaps the only certainty.

Forgotten from the weekend was Western Kentucky's flub in San Antonio. MTSU has it pretty easy until the two meet again, whereas WKU gets Old Dominion five days ahead of that one.

And Virginia proves why they aren't all that, either.

This bubble is going to be nuts. Bama and TAMU both impress (Missouri slinks by), VTech just got a monster bump, and Gonzaga makes the split with SMC, probably, maybe finally locking the both. Purdue, Michigan State, and Ohio State could just be the same team...nobody proves to be the best in that conference.

St. John's up 27 spots from last week, now at 67 RPI/72 KP. In KP, they're ahead of Provy. Provy gets stomped at home by DePaul...ouch.

Northwestern, whose missing far and away their top player, leads #2 Michigan State 33-10.

Northwestern has 6 points in the 2nd half. There's 5 minutes left in the half. 04-jawdrop

I don't think I've ever seen a 32-4/35-6 run in a game with traditional major conference teams and almost certainly not in a game where one team led by 20+ points. Michigan State is good and well coached but what a collapse.

ODU 82, UTEP 33 (last night). And UTEP had just broken their losing streak at Charlotte two nights before.
