But we're having a Bourbon lottery here in the state for allocated bottles of bourbon. I joined and looked at the bottles and picked one I'd like to try.. You could put in for all of them, but if you won any bottle, your name is removed from the lottery for the rest.. I was told I did it wrong I should've went for them all.. Whatever.. Emails started going out this morning, I haven't been notified if I won or lost.. But I'm in a FB group and a guy posted he won a bottle (not the one I wanted), and was mad he won because it wasn't the bottle he had his heart set on... That frustrates me because I'm sure there's someone out there who wanted that and now won't get it cause of him.. Gears are ground.

Open a website called Libation Frustration and offer bottle swaps! Sometimes you get lucky and can undo what the stupid hath wrought!

The other part to the frustration is some of these guys get upset if you drink any bottle you bought that was hard to find.. Hey boss I don't spend my money on this to look at it.

Should be a crime. I have a buddy that acquired a bottle of van winkle 20 year and it's locked in his safe like a precious artifact. I get it's a $5000 bottle but why buy it if not to enjoy it

Some of these guys are finding Blantons and paying upwards of $150+ and have several bottles but won't drink it..

Someone said people who's never had it wouldn't understand.. I said I've had it, it's ok, I think it's overpriced for $60/bottle (normal going rate).. Boy did I create an uproar..

You mean you want people who can actually finish their damn work? When you find one PM me. My favorite are the people who sell you an appliance and deliver it without telling you that a particular cord was required to make it work and that they are out of stock! What was that Grisham book titled, "A Time to Kill".

That happened to me one time also. Where's the cord, there's not one and everything is closed. 05-mafia Never could understand that part of the deal.

what sucks is I can do it … equipment and all (at the pole and box)… however … well, you know why I cannot in an incorporated city…

to your point, I have a customer that needs major dirt work from a subcontractor … he was past the point of pizzed 2.5 weeks later … I solved that one…

we’ve inherited dumbfk-lazy-landia….

addendum : and just like that, the dickhead pokes his head out of the shell…

My family owns a bar. Blanton's is good, but way overpriced. All of the Buffalo Trace bourbon is good but overpriced, IMO, except Benchmark. I like Benchmark as much as any Buffalo Trace bourbon. It's cheap, but very good. It's our rail bourbon.

I have Blanton's, but find Elijah Craig to be very satisfactory, and the price is certainly more reasonable. Thoughts?

I liked Elijah Craig. My go to right now is Wild Turkey 101. Can’t beat it for the price and proof. And the taste is pretty good too

Benchmark FTW. Works great for a tailgate too.

when the hammerheads pick it up with their greasy chicken wing fingers that plastic bottle will bounce. Fixes two problems at once.

Decent enough for those that are gonna pour a bunch of ginger ale or Diet Coke over it anyway.

That stuff pisses me off. These guys who buy it up just to sit on it when others (like myself) would gladly drink it are ruining the point of them making the bourbon in the first place.

People ... please.

If you are going to abbreviate 2024 it is '24 ... not 24'.

24' is 288". (24 feet is 288 inches.)

The tick (') indicates missing or omitted characters and where.

What I've (I have) shown, it's (it is, note missing letter and where) the correct usage.

I'm not a collector... I mean I don't buy stuff to look at.. Now granted I have two bottles of Old Forrester sitting in my cabinet I haven't opened, but I wanted to kill a couple of other bottles first..

Before you ask they're both Whiskey Row bottles.. Ones 1910 and the other is 1920.

If you are going to abbreviate 2024 it is '24 ... not 24'.

24' is 288". (24 feet is 288 inches.)

The tick (') indicates missing or omitted characters and where.

What I've (I have) shown, it's (it is, note missing letter and where) the correct usage.

lol … I get to pop the cherry by referencing sig line 9 … lol

Should be a crime. I have a buddy that acquired a bottle of van winkle 20 year and it's locked in his safe like a precious artifact. I get it's a $5000 bottle but why buy it if not to enjoy it
Some of these guys are finding Blantons and paying upwards of $150+ and have several bottles but won't drink it..

Someone said people who's never had it wouldn't understand.. I said I've had it, it's ok, I think it's overpriced for $60/bottle (normal going rate).. Boy did I create an uproar..

That stuff pisses me off. These guys who buy it up just to sit on it when others (like myself) would gladly drink it are ruining the point of them making the bourbon in the first place.

And that's completely understandable! Gotta kill some to properly enjoy the goods sometimes 04-cheers
