I'll add fricking Hipsters to that.

Skinny jeans, beards, sleeve tats, craft beer, and whatever else happens to be trendy at the time.

They think they're all "counter culture" and edgy but too stupid to realize that by doing the same thing as THE REST OF THEIR FELLOW ENLIGHTENED PEOPLE, they're nothing more than a stereotype of themselves.....

I don't know about the other ones but I hang out with craft beer aficionados and we certainly don't think we're counter culture or edgy.

NO POLITICS!

What grinds your gears? What happened today that really pissed you off? Got a story to tell? Let's have an open thread with NO POLITICS where you can get something off your chest.

NO POLITICS!

What grinds your gears?

Wow. Where to start......

1) Cell phone people. Driving and yammering on the phone not paying attention, more dangerous than drunk drivers IMO.

2) Cell phone people II. People standing in a line (store, theater, etc) yapping away and can't be bothered to hang up or STFU when it's their turn in line.

3) People who are sitting at a red light, it turns green, and continue to wait for an invitation to go.

4) People who, the minute there's a snowflake or raindrop in the air, immediately slow down to 10 mph under the speed limit holding up traffic.

5) Harley guys who want to show how fricking "cool" they are by revving the crap out of their "hogs" to let everyone know they're bad-ass Harley guys with loud pipes. Especially D-bagish when done in the wee hours of the morning.

6) People who sit in a movie and talk during the whole damn thing.

7) People who in that same movie, don't respect personal space. There's 150 empty seats, yet they feel the need to sit directly in front, next to, or behind you. Give it a few seats for Christ's sake.

8) Wallet people. Wait in line to pay or order then, rather than have cash or card ready while waiting, get their total and have to dig thru their wallet to find the means to pay. A little forethought maybe?

9) On the same token, check people. Usually older people who buy something at a grocery store then, like wallet people, take out a check and start to fill it out. Then comes the process of scanning the check and getting "approval". Every hear of a debit card?

I'm sure I'll think of more.....
I just want you to look and admire my hog....

Sounds like you're one of the people who likes and appreciates beer.

I'm talking about those who seek out the most obscure micro no one's ever heard of then lecture you about how unenlightened you are because you're unaware of it. That wafty sense of superiority is what separates then from the pack.

Oh, ran into (almost) another one this morning.

People who come up to a yield sign or flashing yellow stop light and come to a DEAD STOP in the middle of the street. It's NOT a stop sign idiot, it's a slow down, look for traffic and yield when necessary sign. Pay attention to your surroundings.

I encountered one yesterday. Lady was looking down at her phone as I was exiting a store and almost ran me over on the way to my truck. So I hop in my truck and when I get to where she was, she crossed the street, head down, still in the phone, and threw her hand up as to tell oncoming traffic to wait, I'm crossing. Grrr.

RE: What grinds your gears?
So I am watching this show on Netflix called Altered Carbon. Here is what grinds my gears: it's so damn predictable: because it's "the future" everything is grim, it's always always fvcking downpour raining, and no one ever turns on any lights. Then there is the diversity staffing, so stereotyped as to be ridiculous

Above board, honest cop: Muslim
Hot headed detective who will do anything to solve the case: Latina
Evil guy: white businessman, of course.
Evil guy's son: gay, just looking for respect
Main shitkicking mystical ninja: black women with dreadlocks
Racist guy: white Russian
Wise sage who speaks in proverbs: Chinese monk-like dude

So predictable. So damn predictable. Grinds my gears.

I thought the premise of the movie, being able to download consciousness and move it between bodies, was interesting and could have been awesome.

Unfortunately, in today's world, a great premise can be totally ruined by cookie-cutter scripting and political correctness.

All that being said, coming from the male pig perspective, your Hot headed detective who will do anything to solve the case: Latina looked GREAT naked.

Whoever said craft beer - that's really the only thing I'll disagree with you on. Nothing better, IMO, than a nice hoppy, 9% abv Double IPA to kick you in the ass.

I actually prefer stouts, porters and barleywines. Even a few stouts that probably remind you of light sweet crude. But, strong stuff all the same, just like your IPAs. I cannot drink Miller Lite anymore. Although I enjoyed the old Miller Lite commercials with Bob Euchre, Rodney Dangerfield, etc.

I was just saying the other day, it seems like lots of women nowadays drive like they only occasionally look out the windshield. No doubt concentrating on their phone, make-up, or whatever.

That's fine. I enjoy a craft brew myself on occasion.

What I object to is people who have their nose up in the air and shoot you a look of disdain because my friends and I are enjoying an ice cold Miller Lite with pizza instead of drinking a British-Style Barley Wine Ale with toffee overtures while eating an organic/non GMO/gluten free/artisanal/locally foraged/rooftop garden salad.

You should have HONKED really loud to get her attention. What's a middle finger anyway. She would have given you one. When they do this you give them two fingers for a Vee signal or the whole hand for something else.

I'm not being very Christian like, am I? Apologies. Goes to show that I have other experiences. LOL

Reminds me of my dad who used to hate the guy who starred in Paladin. The guy was ugly as sin but he always had a woman hanging on to his sleeve. That was the main reason it Ps'ed off my dad...but like you he kept on watching. LOL

Next time I may do that. But why blow the horn at a pedestrian, they have the right of way. Nobody else knew she damn near ran me over. It'd just make me look like an ass.

I shall do it next time.

Haha - agreed there. I will never turn my nose up to a fellow beer drinker based on their choice of beer. Cases of Busch Light (or Bud Light when I had money) got me through college. And IMO, there's nothing better on a hot day while tailgating than a nice light beer.

Busch Light? Must be nice to have had enough money to afford Busch Light... LOL 03-lmfao

The cheap beer of choice when I was at school was Old Milwaukee. Get it cold enough and it almost passed as real beer. But hey, it was dirt cheap and got you drunk.
