Go back and find me doom and gloom?

I said we had a Chemistry problem in the early portion of the season, which we did, with essentially 2 new PG's. We've now found our defensive identity and were playing great basketball.

The only thing I'm doom and gloom about is our Tourney resume. We will get shafted again if we drop more than 2 games in this conference

yep, that's what I was getting at. UH needs to play great and Cincy have a B game for there to be a chance.

IMO. UC would have to have more like a D game. They'd have to shoot 30%, not grab any offensive rebounds and just not show up defensively.

But the good thing about this UC team so far is that they've yet to come into a bigger game unprepared, especially at home. I mean we tore meat from SMU and they were fully healthy.

I mean, Temple went into Houston and gave them a hell of a game. Temple came into BB&T and looked like they wanted to get back on the plane after 10 minutes or so

do you actually watch games or just simply go by stats???

houstn blew out temple for most of the game...houston was up HUGE, then our center was injured badly, so houston took the air out of the ball, not trying to injure anyone else before wichita (the next game)..houston was up double digits with 2minutes left in the game.. houston butchered the free throws in the end but that game wasnt close as the score.. houston wins by 13 to 15 if we make free throws (add points) and killed their momentum/belief

i dont know how anyone can watch that game and think they gave houston a "hell of a game" it was one sided 99% of the game till injuries ..that why our starting center didnt play in wichita part one and limited minutes vs tulane

I pay 20 bucks a month for a Synergy account (the same tool that Kelvin Sampson uses to scout his opponents) . Specifically so I can watch every UC game twice and re-watch nearly every conference game.

I'd guess I've watched at least 20 more hours of UC basketball than you have.

And which Starting center are you referring too? Brady? Brady would have beaten Wichita State?

Ahh So Houston is better than Wichita state. Got it. If only they had Brady they'd have whooped them at home.

Well I think maybe you should probably consider getting a refund on that $20/month because UH whooped WSU in Houston with Brady getting limited minutes due to foul trouble.

You must have missed that replay.

Your saying Houston is better than UC? Because UC at home is pretty damn tough.

What big on Houston is better than Kyle Washington? What big is better than Gary Clark? Who do they have guard Jacob Evans?

I don't think anybody is saying Houston is better than UC.

Except for that Xavier game ... and Florida game ...

yea. I meant since that point. We started the season trying to out score teams and weren't playing good defense. Losses build character and we lost at the right times.

Either way, looking forward to the game on Wednesday. UC hasn't played anyone with a pulse in a while.

you had us below temple too at 6 (you had us battling for 6 or 7 with uconn)..to be fair to you, you said 4 was maybe possible for houston if davis stepped up and some of the new players turned out all right (justin was the one adamant that we would suck for sure)

also foster was injured 3 games ago, houston was higher in the standings before he was lost...and ucf's problem isnt tacko or taylors injury but the fact none of them can shoot..they dont have anyone to replace the production of matt williams..they wouldnt have finished very high even if they had everyone healthy.
Houston would have still likely been pushing for third even if everyone was healthy

SMU peaked at #22 in Kenpom. Houston hasn't touched that yet.

And I said Houston would be worse offensively without Dotson. They are. They are almost 30 spots worse on offense. I also didn't expect UCF to lose Dawkins, Taylor and now Tacko.

You are very confident going into the nations longest home winning streak. You act like you've dominated teams on the road this year. The reality, houston sucks on the road.

your best road win is #147 Saint Louis who is trash. When you've played top 100 teams on the road this season you are 0-2.

Add in that the reason no one has been able to stop your offense all year is because.... You've yet to play a top 70 defense all season long.

The 3 best defenses you've played this year were:
#75 SLU
#79 Providence
#74 Wichita State.

This isn't just the best defense you've faced all year, its the best defense you've faced in the last 18 years (since 2002 at least).

You can chill on the confidence. If you beat us, I'll gladly say congrats. But you have very little reason to be this confident in our gym.

Just looked something up ... In Cincys first 8 conference games, only 1 game has been against a team in the top half of Offensive offensive efficiency in the conference.

They obviously won that game ... but if you are going to start throwing out numbers about how crappy of teams that Houston has faced in an attempt to make their offense look worse ... They can do the same with your defensive numbers.

7 of the last 10 conference games for UC are against teams in the top half of the conference in offensive efficiency.

UC played 5 top 50 offenses this year, 4 of them scored under a point per possession.

I show 4 (Xavier, Florida, SMU, UCLA). You are 2-2 when facing elite offenses.

3-2 when facing teams with offenses as good or better than Houston's (adds in Buffalo)

Holy ****. You guys do realize that home court advantage means someting right?

I'll take WSU in a neutral game. The metrics support it. The talent is better and i think Marshall is a better coach.

Just because you beat them in your own gym, doesn't make you better than them.

Buffalo was top 50 as of a week or so ago. We held every top 60 team under a point per possession except 1. And it was on the road.

if we hold Houston under a point per possession in our gym we will win.

Ya, except we didn't just beat them... it was a genuine woodshed outing. It was only close right after tipoff. So in your biased opinion (which you're entitled to), UH returning the favor in a big way didn't level the playing field between UH and shocktop any?

That's funny if you don't think so because someone who sounds so in love with stats should realize that the play on the court is the only actual metric that you can never dispute.

Depends on if your offense shows up. That's been the big problem in conference so far .. just haven't had a team capable of taking advantage of it.

You forgot:

7. When talking about UH games, you must make no less than 100 mentions of how bad attendance is at the games. You must beat this point into oblivion, especially if your team loses to UH. Any less than 100 mentions will result in an immediate 3-day ban.

Whatever.

Were the best team in this conference until proven otherwise. If you beat us tomorrow night, I'll gladly hand the crown over.

You started all the trash talk, specifically calling me out. Yes, Houston is better than I expected. But do I think they are better than UC or WSU? No. I'm glad they did some work in the non conference to have a chance and if their is one loss I won't be too pissed about is if we drop to Houston in Houston since it will get you an NCAA bid.

I just didn't appreciate the arrogance. I hope its a good game. As a season ticket holder, we've had no reason to even get the place rockin because were killing teams to early. The gym is damn near empty with 5 to go. I wouldn't mind some excitement. Houston has had a great season, just don't think have won a game thats any thing close to as tough as UC on the road to warrant being so confident.

7. When talking about UH games, you must make no less than 100 mentions of how bad attendance is at the games. You must beat this point into oblivion, especially if your team loses to UH. Any less than 100 mentions will result in an immediate 3-day ban.

Gonna hold off on this one until next year. If they can't fill the new arena with what presumably looks like another very solid team then it is 100% deserved

I'd guess I've watched at least 20 more hours of UC basketball than you have.

And which Starting center are you referring too? Brady? Brady would have beaten Wichita State?

Ahh So Houston is better than Wichita state. Got it. If only they had Brady they'd have whooped them at home.

im talking about watching houston game..that temple game wasnt as close as the score, was my point..

and im talking about breaon brady. i also never said houston would have beaten wichita part one if brady was healthy...i simply stated he missed the game, you added all kinds of words i never mentioned..

04-cheers ill be here post game ..hope you are too

Diehard UCF hoops fan, recent grad and season ticket holder. But I watch all your crappy teams too.

Welcome

Few notes to get you up to speed.
1. Im the smartest man alive
2. Wichita State fans are are small minded and petty
3. Uconn, Memphis and Temple fans are all bitter and want to fire their coaches in hoops
4. The trolls in the joint are elite and worth the price of admission
5. If you personally attack another person you win a fabulous three day vacation

good callh

8. When addressing WSU fans, if you need to break out the paddle just bring up Shake Milton’s name...its sends them into a state of beserk derision. Its the funniest thing to watch. I think half of their fan base now claim the man was hitting half-court shots with his offhand at will.

Buffalo was top 50 as of a week or so ago. We held every top 60 team under a point per possession except 1. And it was on the road.

if we hold Houston under a point per possession in our gym we will win.

Depends on if your offense shows up. That's been the big problem in conference so far .. just haven't had a team capable of taking advantage of it.

Not at home we haven't.

Memphis: 1.26 ppp
SMU: 1.12
ECU: 1.25
Temple: 1.06

And thats with only 3x in all 4 games combined having to play a starter 30+ minutes.

UC has an offense problem, thats for sure but thats only on the road. At home, we are pretty good.

We have the 2nd best Offense in conference play and its with a 3 point cushion.

You have no reason to hide. You're the underdog. You'll pat your self on the back if you put in a good effort and lose or celebrate if you win.

UC is now the hunted. I'm interested to see how they respond.

One thing is clear. We have Gary Clark and you don't. And right now, he is the AAC player of the year.
