That averages out to 50 points per game allowed, which is absurd. Houston has been a pretty good defensive team as well, so I'll be surprised if either team makes it to 70.

Though as I pointed out .. only 1 of Cinci's 8 conference games has come against a team with an AdjO ranked in the top half of the conference. (SMU). 7 of the last 10 will be against really good offenses. Will be interesting to see if that number stays low.

That's why AdjD figures are adjusted for competition.

I don't always love how UC plays offense (understatement of the year), but I'm always impressed with this staff's defensive gameplan. I expect a great performance tonight.

Agreed. Just pointing out that the stat above is heavily swayed by playing bad offenses (PPG). So will be interesting to see how much that average moves. The 4 teams that Cincy played that had AdjO better than Houston scored 89, 66, 56, 67. (Average ~70ppg) So still good (minus Xavier), but not 50 ppg either.

This is Cincy's toughest conference opponent this year. It will be a chance to see what they can do against a top echelon conference foe. Also Houston will score north of 65, but will it be enough?

I know you can't throw out the game @ Xavier, but UC performs like that every time they play there. It sucks to get beat down over there so frequently but it rarely serves as any sort of indication of what caliber team UC has.

I know .. Xavier is an outlier. The same way you could say that UCF is an outlier because they just can't score ...

Think a little highly of yourself.lol UH will not make 65, just hope they get 20-25 in 1st half, which in itself is debatable.

Wait, you seriously think we need to see what UC can do against a top echelon conference foe? They are 25-2 the past two years in conference play. the better question is, can Houston go on the road against a top team and not get blown out...

The only road wins Houston has all year are St Louis, ECU and USF...

And judging by advanced metrics at the time of the game, SMU (with Foster) was 30 in KenPom ( 36 AdjO, 32 AdjD) and 29 in Sagarin when they played @ UC. And they limped out of UC with a 20 point drubbing.

Where do you get your information we also beat Providence and Liberty on the road.

This is a really good stat ... but completely irrelevant to this years teams ...

Stop homering it up for once.

Oh I agree, it was moreso a response to the statement UC needs to prove themselves against a top tier team in this conference. If either team has something to prove tonight, it's clearly Houston.

Agreed, they have been the best in the league .. There are reasons to doubt they are as good as they think they are .. but right now all the solid proof is that they are the best (no losses in conference)

Yup. Though at this point, between the two teams, Houston has the better win between the 2 (in conference). I think we all know one game doesn't prove anything though.

"Stop homering it up for once."
saying lets see how it plays out is homering it up????????

you are one of the biggest homers here...
nothing i said in that statement is homer..

cincy fans saying we'll struggle to get 20-25points in the half, that theyll win by 20+, that we have no chance.. saying lets see how it plays out is the part you considered homer in the comments above?

25-2 with nothing to show for it. No Conference titles or conference tourney titles
