I believe the Western player was rated a 4 star by 247, not the other 2 and 247's Composite has been adjusted. Kevaris Thomas rating is .8667 today on 247 and I believe it was in the high .84 last week. But even if I'm wrong (dont think I am) going up to a .9000 is not going to affect a 23 man class by much....
.8133 to .8147 as far as average player ranking.
Western's class includes 3 players that did not sign with Western
Terez Traynor .8466
Troy Ingle .8339
Roderic Forts .8014
When you remove those 3 from Western's class the over all ranking of 154.77 drops to 148.56 and Western's class drops to 6th in CUSA. Every class above Western and the 2 below that jumps Western has NO unsigned included in their ranking
As good as this class looks, it seems like its below our normal. We will probably drop into the 90’s in team ranks which is bottom 25%
I saw you asked the 247 guy a question about the number of 3 stars players in this class
I just checked and there's a total of 1948 three star recruits on 247 https://247sports.com/Season/2018-Footba...Highschool
376 ranked 4 to 5 star
I will check 2017 and 2016 later tonight because I have a feeling more and more kids are getting rated. But who see these kids play? 1948 kids is a lot to rate and thats just 3 stars
Cool. You know how to find good stats

Rivals is not accurate. For USM they have the same guy listed twice Travion Williams and Ty Williams are the same guy. Denzel Washington decommitted form USM months ago. Will Robinson is headed to Coahoma because of grades. Rivals puts up false or old info.

One thing to note is that UTEP signed 27 players and not the 17 that 247 has for us. They also had our punter with zero stars and was rated as a 5* punter. I was very impressed with the UTEP class especially considering the late start.

He is the record holder in VHSL for single season rushing yards (3,603), single season rushing TDs (61 overall) and single season points scored (372). All set in 2017.
I know it is highschools, but how does one accumulate such numbers in one season???
They include playoff games. He had a total of 15 games. He averaged 12.5 ypc and 240.2 ypg.
So, he averaged north of 4 TDs a game? That's a definite wow!
Wow is right, check out this quote;
Quote:The 5-foot-10, 200-pounder averaged 12.5 yards per carry, said Heritage coach Brad Bradley. He rushed for 401 yards in a Class 3 state semifinal game.
"He only played in the second half of seven games," Bradley said. "If we had really wanted to pad his stats, he could have had over 4,000 yards."
Crazy.

Maybe VA HS football is not as good as FL HS football. But still, I saw some of Davis' videos, he just took the ball and ran with it.

No kickers or punters get five stars by recruiting services. Those are only handed out by kicking-specific sites.

I’m pretty sure you can only sign 25. And kickers don’t get 5 stars. You can be the best kicker in the country and you’ll be a 2 or 3 star max. It’s like being the best long snapper in the country.

Several of the kids listed as signed are preferred walk ons. There is still the chance that Dimal's son comes to UTEP as a grad transfer. He was a 3 time all conference FB at K-State. It is between UTEP, Wisconsin and Texas A&M. It would be a monster get if he comes.

A 5* kicker rated by a kicking-related site just means he is an FBS-level kicker, while a 4.5* or 4* kicker (depending on the site) is an FCS-level kicker. Please refer to the rating index on whichever site you used.

PWOs are not included as part of a recruiting class total. So y'all did sign 27 players, plus however many PWOs.

RE: National Signing Day 2018
While UTEP's class of 27 may end up rated lowest in C-USA, when you consider that UTEP was the only FBS team without even 1 commit at season's end, signed not even 1 in the early signing period, I'd say that the new coaching staff did quite well. Offense issues were addressed with immediate infusion of talent at QB and WR. Hopefully this will translate into a much more competitive UTEP football team in the fall. Looking forward to it.
