Any word on C-USA tv deals?
I know that C-USA athletic directors met recently in Florida. No news came out of that meeting but the UTEP AD did tweet that it happened.
We know that BEIN is around for the coming school calendar year but this spring, our deals with espn and cbssports expire. Any one heard anything?

No TV deals, but many rounds of golf were played and many stone crabs and cold beverages were devoured.

RE: Any word on C-USA tv deals?
I figure ESPN will be the same, give them content for free in exchange for a little air time. CBS, would not surprise me if it doesn't change, there are a few games they want, the rest they can live without. BEin and Stadium the same. Fox is never coming back. These are my predictions. We have to earn our way back into the ESPN fold unfortunately, accept mid week games, or live with status quo. The powers that be, want to force smaller programs to quit, they already have a conference that was willing to do whatever they wanted for airtime, the MAC. They have the AAC that has more household names, they have the MWC, which isn't as high as the AAC and the media deal shows, but then they look at us and the belt and say "why?"
We gotta earn an identity and a reputation, we haven't done that and aren't close to doing that.

If CUSA starts doing weekday football, Marshall will be on the phone with the MAC.

Just get a reliable streaming site that works and is a fair price. Its 2018, it should not be this hard. But C-USA continues to botch everything at every turn.

Getting all the revenue sports off CUSATV and on ESPN3 at minimum would be a start.

I'd take Stadium as well, especially if ESPN starts charging $5 a month for ESPN3.

I have to say, Im kinda surprised there hasnt already been something announced. The current deal for every CUSA broadcast partner other than BeIn ends in May. Of even greater concern, preliminary 2018 football television schedules are typically announced in early April. Thats just a couple of months away. You have to think this thing is going to get wrapped up pretty soon. That said, ESPN Plus is in its very early stages. Maybe thats part of the hold up---because I'd think that ESPN would pay for CUSA content for that platform in the belief it wold attract subscribers to the new service.

Unless changes are made with conference leadership, I have a feeling this conference isn't going to make it. Sad, some rivalries are brewing, and some older ones still exist. Every school is going to have to pick up the pace. Every AD, President is going to have to put pressure on the conference office if they want to save it.

For CUSA to survive a dedicated channel must be developed. If the leadership is to incompotent to reach a channel agreement the odds are CUSA is breaking up. If that happens the conference may look like Marshall, ODU, Liberty, Appalachian, Charlotte, Western Kentucky, Middlle Tennessee, FAU, FIU, Georgia St, Georgia South, & Coastal Carolina.
If three of the teams choose to not join, CUSA reaches out to JMU for football and Charleston & VCU for basketball.

200k per school or 0 per school. Doesn't really matter in the big scheme of $20M+ budgets. It's a 1% paycut. I'd rather they tell the TV peeps to go f themselves and set up real accessible streaming on all major platforms through subscriptions and divide the money based on revenue from subscribers of each school. The more people you get to watch your program the more your school makes. 6-7000 fans pay the $100 per year subs and we've doubled our tv money after production expenses.
Like all games are on CUSA.TV, locally produced at hosting school, and CUSA.TV has an app on all major devices. The conference can sell advertising to get their money. Why pay someone to host a channel and take most of the profits? We can be independent and be better all around for it.

Seems like a reasonable model, except CUSA has managed to screw that up too. I have heard nothing but complaints about cusa.tv. Give me the stadium broadcast any day over that.

clt says the streaming concept will not work for the appys up the mountain. Hard to stream on dial up.

Don't disagree, but id try something else, that looks too much like an FCS league 2.0. No offense

No teams west of the Mississippi, geography, recruiting, and rivalries. This is what CUSA should be.

That league would be worse in basketball than what we are now. So, no.

Again noooo. As much as I want Marshall to play in the south, I would rather go back to thr MAC than play in a glorified FCS league
