Not exactly a marquee opponent but i embrace any regional away game I can travel to. We've got @Nebraska in 2020 and Indiana coming to Nippert in 2022 for our P5 games those years anyway.

Western Michigan has recruited well in recent years with the "row the boat" coach now at Minnesota. In 2020, the Broncos will still have guys he recruited as Freshmen. The games against Western Michigan should be competitive, but unless Luke is looking to get some further exposure for UC in Michigan, I don't see where this is a particularly attractive matchup. Much rather play Ohio University or Toledo regularly if we're going to be playing any MAC team other than Miami.

Sorry. I just don't get this. We're scheduling a home-and-home with another MAC opponent? We already have one of those (Ohio) that makes a bit more sense, and another in Miami that we're trying to move toward a 2-for-1. I guess having another opponent within driving distance is good, and there's Bell's, but otherwise I'm not excited.

Does nothing to excite me. I do not have a gal in Kalamazoo. Where's Waldo?

If I recall, this gives us a third OOC game for each of those seasons. Which, of course, leaves a fourth spot open. If the plan is to get another Cartel 5 conference residing school or a decent MWC program on the schedule, then im all for it. We'd have essentially replaced our FCS game with a second MAC game. This would be the smart move for the future at least.

If we still end up scheduling Dixie State A&M each of those years, then I agree that this is a trivial matchup at best.

Not exciting. However, rather see this than a Alabama St or Prairie View

This staff recruits Ohio really well. This gets them a game in Michigan to be able to sell to Michigan recruits - "we will be playing in your home state in 2020 or 2021" (I didn't see which one we are playing there). I agree there's no difference between them and Ohio U other than it adds a game in another recruiting region. As long as the schedule is completed with a solid "p5" team, I'm fine with this.

That's all that really matters.

I like having an occasional game I can drive to easily. Yeah, I would prefer a bigger name opponent. (Purdue or Northwestern would be awesome.)

It has been a few years since I have been in Kalamazoo. I remember it as being a nice town. Should make for a good road trip. I wish we had a trip like that this year.

Kazoo is a good place for a weekend. Heck, head over to the Lake Michigan coastline if it's early enough in the fall.

Northwestern would be an interesting matchup.

I like that UC is doing this in two years where they already have a big ten team on their nonconference schedule. I'd really like if they could finish filling their schedule with games that aren't FCS teams.

Dr. Terren L Frenz must be heart broken that He will not get to lead the playing of this Glenn Miller classic:

A B C D E F G H, I got a gal in Kalamazoo
Don’t want to boast but I know she’s the toast of Kalamazoo
Zoo, zoo, zoo, zoo, zoo
Years have gone by, my my how she grew
I liked her looks when I carried her books in Kalamazoo
Zoo, zoo, zoo, zoo, zoo

I’m gonna send away, hoppin’ on a plane, leavin’ today
Am I dreamin’? I can hear her screamin’
"Hiya, Mr. Jackson"
Everything’s O K A L A M A Z O O

Oh, what a gal, a real pipperoo
I’ll make my bid for that freckle-faced kid, I’m hurryin’ to
I’m goin’ to Michigan to see the sweetest gal in Kalamazoo
Zoo, zoo, zoo, zoo, zoo, Kalamazoo

K A L A M A Z O O, oh oh oh

I suppose that's the big if. If we have to do a game on the road against Western Michigan in order to take a FCS home game off of our schedule, I'm in.

And, this isn't exactly an anomaly. MAC schools are hosting the likes of Miami, Syracuse, Iowa State, Utah, Maryland and Mizzou in coming years.

Beer-cation!

Bell’s Excentric Cafe, Arcadia Brewing and Gonzos BigDogg are reason enough to hit that town.
