Some teams can be really anal about the nets. At the end of their last year in the CAA richmond played vcu in the season finale at vcu. The spiders won and attempted to cut the nets down on vcu's home court. That classless move caused a near riot.

Lol...I'm normally with you but, but I'll give them a pass for that. Down 20 in the third quarter to a top 10, national brand team, and they scored 24 straight to pull of the upset. I had a few friends on the team that year. I feel differently about ECU these days, but I enjoyed that game. It was pretty amazing for them.

Only time I've ever seen the visiting team's fans tear down the home team's goal post. There's a reason why it doesn't happen. Well, more than one.

Regular season titles are participation trophies

Our 2015 team all got regular season championship rings even though they tied for it and got the 2 seed in the conference tournament. Cutting down the nets does seem a bit absurd though.

Maybe there's another example that I'm not familiar with. Did ECU do this after beating NCSU in Carter-Finley? The time I remember was after the ECU-Miami game in 1999.

It happened in Carter-Finley. I should have thought of the Miami game when you mentioned being down 24. Now, that was a great game.

It's sports psychology. It can be cheesy, but I don't see the big deal.
