nippert new capacity
Well the first college football game is about a month away. Has a new official capacity for the renovated been establish? I know the city fire marshall has to issued a capacity certificate for safety purposes and I think the state building inspector has to issue an occupancy certififcate, if not delegated to the county/city. Both certififcate are based on the number of people that can safely be in Nippert during a game. I wonder if it takes standing room into account, if so the capacity might be issued at 40k+03-yawn

RE: nippert new capacity
How many seats does the new Nippert Stadium actually have? Who knows. If we went in and counted we might be disappointed. I believe it was determined by the powers that be, that 40,000 seats was the threshold to be taken seriously for P5 conference expansion (Of course there are a few P5 schools that fall below that benchmark as I recall.).

So if they say it often enough it must be true--40,000 seats. And sellouts must now be announced as 40,000+. Let's hope we're seeing that figure regularly because the conventional wisdom among our detractors has been that we draw under 30,000 and have an attendance issue (Maybe we need to take some lessons from Pitt on reporting game day attendance.).

With that said, I stopped by for a closer look yesterday. Suffice it to say, there will be nothing like it in major college football. The sweeping view of the new west side addition from the north end zone walkway is spectacular. It screams big-time college football now from every point of view. A historic, natural bowl in the center of a world class campus environment is unique in all of college football. This will be a showplace on national TV this season.

This guy called it in August 2015, before FC played their first season.

And the media guide he's referring to is from 2015.

I am pretty sure we have always reported tickets paid/distributed...not by actual attendance.

I’m guessing actual seats at Nippert are a lot closer to the FCC sellout number than 40k. Regardless, current capacity with reduced seating is right sized given the current conference situation.
