Cougar Baseball
Chicago State started off the year with a solid 2 hit, 12-2 W over LIU Brooklyn. They have two more with the Blackbirds and then travel to Florida for the Snowbird Classic.

CSU was picked to finish last in the conference so we’ll see how season goes.

RE: Cougar Baseball
Chicago State won their series with LIU Brooklyn 2-1, and then beat St Bonaventura yesterday by a score of 9-5! They’re sitting at 3-1 now and will be playing Mount St. Mary’s, Minnesota, and Indiana between today and tomorrow.

Thanks, Lopes! Unfortunately, they blew leads in both games 4-0, 2-0, respectively, and dropped to 4-3 on the year. They have a series with SLU next who is struggling to start the season so hopefully they can get this series.

Actually won the series, too. They’re facing the bottom half of the WAC to end the year so perhaps this won’t be a fluke and we’ll grab some more W’s!

CSU takes 2 of 3 from Northern Colorado. The guys may escape the cellar yet.

RE: Cougar Baseball
As of today (5/13), CSU has a legitimate chance of making the WAC tournament. If they can take down UTRGV today in Chicago then they play their final three games against CSUB, which is not very good. UTRGV has to play NMSU and Utah Valley has to play Sac State. If Chicago can take 2 out of 3 from CSUB and UTRGV and Utah Valley lose 2 out of 3 to the big boys then I believe CSU is in. Totally possible. 04-rock

Cougars Win another WAC series (3rd straight)! Unfortunately, Bakersfield won today too. Chicago State sits at 6-15 and Bakersfield at 8-13. CSU has to sweep Bakersfield to earn a bid now, and UTRGV to (at most) Win 2 of 3 in their last series. It’s not ideal but completely possible.

Go Cougars! Glad to at least see them playing significant baseball this time of year.

Looks like the Cougars can only play the spoiler role now. The 14-2 loss to Bakersfield must've stung.

RE: Cougar Baseball
That loss in game 1 definitely hurt.. ended the season. But they took the last game and finished ahead of UVU. Also, right behind UTRGV. Not bad for a program no one gave any chance to. Too bad they couldn’t have taken at least 2 of 3 so they could finished ahead of UTRGV.

RE: Cougar Baseball
For a team that only have 13 wins and all against teams that had an RPI of 201 or worse and they finished above anyone let alone a team that had at least 1 win vs a top 50 RPI is alright. Good for you guys!
