Good game ODU. This conference has some great talent. I knew it would be a close game.

Now to those that said it wouldn't be a 20 point game, how did Marshall play? We just need to hold on to that 4th place and I believe it's a 4 way title battle.

It's gonna be tough. As of this post, UTSA is winning against Southern Miss. they win, and they're one game away from us. I believe if we tie, they win based on our head to head loss.

Also, on the cusp is UAB, whom we play soon. That game could also be a play in game for the 4-spot. Doesn't help us it's in Birmingham.

So tonight's loss certainly hurts.

Porter>Peneva...He is way too soft on the defensive end. If he is awarded defensive player of the year, I will laugh. Defensive player of the year cannot be all about blocked shots. He was absolutely horrific on the defensive end. I now know why he leads by so much in blocked shots. The guards can't keep anyone in front of them, so he gets plenty of opportunities. He is very skilled offensively. That pass he made was ridiculous.

Penava also gives up way too many offensive rebounds by chasing blocked shots. His guy is left all by himself for easy buckets. But it’s hard, because he obviously really helps his team by changing shots even when he doesn’t block them.

I see why you would think that. And having seen Porter play now in two Herd games, yeah, he's a great player no doubt.

But Penava, I think you're selling him short. You can't have the kind of counting stats he has and not give him the award.

Slightly over critical. His defense was there and he affected a lot of shots even when he didn't block them. Its his offensive game that went lacking in the second half that was the story

Despite the trash talk all week, Elmore is a helluva player. Great game.

Penava didn't have the best night, but Porter isn't better. Penava still had a double-double with 14 pts, 10 boards. Porter was 11 pts, 4 boards. Add in Penava's 5 blocks and it's no contest. Porter does win for the most elbows thrown and whining like a baby on the floor.04-cheers

Thats strange, it felt like Porter was in the game all night. Just shows how much of an impact he has when he's in.

I think another poster mentioned this, but Peneva altered several uncontested shots strictly with his presence. But you're right, he needs more help.

Yeah Peneva is insanely long. When porter was out in the first half it was obvious he forced us to change our game.

Posted from mobile device. Hopefully it's coherent.

He wasn't great but he wasn't as bad as you portrayed. He's a good player was all I'm saying.

Agree completely on Penava's defensive ability. He is a great shot blocker but not very good at post defense. You can be one (shot blocker) without being the other. With that said, I think he'll win C-USA Defensive Player of the Year, solely because of blocked shots. I don't think he is the best defender but he will get the award. I will say he made great strides as a player this season. He wasn't very good last year.
