Plans may be in the works for me and 2 buddies to make the drive for the tournament game as soon as baseball gets out, then drive back to Wilmington after, lol. We were waiting for the tournament seedings/schedule before settling on whether we'd make the trip at all, since money is a bit tight for all of us (wedding planning for 2/3 of us!)

Not saying it's set in stone but that would be fun....and exhausting.

I can provide first hand experience on exhausting trips to North Charleston, and also how worth it they are.

Preseason poll:
1. Charleston
2. Towson
3. Elon
4. Hofstra
5. UNCW
6. Northeastern
7. Delaware
8. William and Mary
9. Drexel
10. James Madison

Welp. We didn't meet expectations. Bumma. William and Mary and Northeastern though... whoa!

Elon... really fell off the map hard this year.

Those polls were made when we expected to have Elmore and Richmond in the lineup. If those two are on the team this year, I'd like to think we win at least 3 or 4 more games just by having more depth. We have nothing to hang our heads about this year IMO.

Agreed. Finishing the season on a high note with a big road win was huge. Now we’re in a position where we have a very beatable quarterfinal.

Before the season, if you had said we’d have a great shot at making the CAA Semi-Final in McGrath’s first year, after losing 4 starters plus a couple other guys for other reasons...I’d have taken that in a heartbeat. We didn’t overachieve by any means, but after taking our lumps, we competed nicely in league play.

Hofstra is playing well right now, but you guys have a real shot. Easily could have beaten Northeastern either time you played them and blew out Hofstra once. Like 82Hawk said, I like your draw probably better than ours. But, we will play with the hand we are dealt. Instead of being overly worried about our opponents, hopefully, the Tribe will do the things it does well next weekend. With any luck, maybe we will get a rematch in Charleston with you guys from last year. Charleston is definitely the favorite and I also have great respect for Coach Coen. It wouldn't hurt my feelings at all to see you guys knock off Uncle Joe in the quarters.

Man, I still have the CAA championship game recorded from last year and just watched it. We had six guys who could put up doubles figures any night. Talley had a fantastic game. After watching, I really like him on the drive. Even when he missed, Cacok was there to grab the rebound.

Ingram was sick nasty from three.

Oh, and we absolutely destroyed CofC in the 2nd. half.

Yes, we lost a few games we should have won. But after losing four starters and all our recruits from last year, and two key players for the season and still finished three spots above the projection, I would definitely say we have overachieved. And that's a good thing. Our younger guys got a lot of real game experience. And with what we have coming in next year, I see much more promise. If the new guys and Elmore fill the holes we need filling, we have plenty to look forward to.

He actually said the natives are getting restless in regards to their HC... found that interesting. He’s an older dude says he’s had season tickets for 25 years a few years after he graduated

Yeah. They took a HUGE step back from expectations this year which would likely put him on the hot seat.

I'm glad they care enough over there to be thinking this way. This should have been an NIT-caliber season for the Phoenix. Instead, they're playing on Slapfight Saturday.

I know the Brian Dawkins injury was big for that squad, but they had plenty of talent to compete at a high level in this league.

Matheny's seat might not be hot right now, but it ought to be getting warm. With a nucleus of Seibring, Santa Ana, Swoope, and Eberhardt returning next season (all rising seniors), there's no excuses for them to finish outside the top 4 or so. But then, they should have done that this year, so....

If I'm JMU, I'm treating tonight like game 1 of the NFL preseason.

Yep. They have incentive to rest some guys too. While 4 days is plenty of time to get ready for their Saturday tilt at the CAA Tournament, it's been a long season, and there's no sense going balls to the wall when you're not in contention for a top 6 spot.
