RE: AAC TV Ratings
I am anxious to see how big the numbers are for the UC-WSU game on March 4. In 2014, when WSU was ranked second in the nation, our season finale game against Missouri State on March 1 on ESPN drew 1.144 million viewers. In 2014, when both WSU and UNI were ranked in the top 20 our season finale against UNI drew 1.137 million viewers on ESPN.

I have to believe that this season's match up between #10 UC an #11 WSU on CBS will blow those numbers away.

It will be #10 vs #11 for the conference title (provided neither of us slip up this week). I would assume it will get really good ratings.

The fact it is on CBS will further enhance what should be a good ratings game. Everyone with a TV has CBS.

I would add that a lot of casual basketball viewers don't really start following the sport until March and this game is right before conference tourney begins.

The Michigan State/Wisconsin game had over 2 million viewers, so it will be interesting how close we can get to that number.

We should get a big boost from being the lead-in to the Arch Madness final. We will probably get a couple million boost from people tuning in early to watch that one.

If I am counting right, the Wichita/SMU game would slide in at #8 on the list in order of viewership and the UConn/Memphis game would slide in at a tie for #29.

RE: AAC TV Ratings
damn even with our awful season we still hold the top two viewership spots

I personally thought msu and UConn would get better rating...But I guess most people didn't want to stay up until 2 watching the game

CBSSN does not subscribe to the Nielsen ratings. And I believe ESPN News no longer does either. For the recent past you could get ESPN NEWS ratings you can't anymore.

Basically the Cable Sports Networks that you can get TV ratings for are: ESPN, FS1, ESPN2, NBC Sportsnet, ESPNU, and FS2. There are other sports networks with TV ratings such as NBA-TV, MLB Network, NFL Network, Golf Chanel, BEIN etc. But those channels are not relevant to College Basketball ratings.

@American_Conf

Big-time overnight rating (1.4) for @GoBearcatsMBB at @GoShockersMBB on @CBSSports yesterday.

Best @American_MBB overnight rating in league history for a conference game. Huge 20 share in Cincinnati.

That's what you call the Shocker Effect.

The 20 share in Cincinnati is what you call the C0|db|00ded Effect.

If we don't get at least 10 million per team, I'll be shocked, because we clearly have the numbers.

Numbers, on field results, multiple bids in most sports, multiple rankings in most sports. A growing national reputation.

Aresco just sitting over there with a full house and a stack of chips. Game face on.

If only we had added Penn State back in the day or some more Catholic bball only schools before the demise of the Big east, we wouldn't be in this dilemma.
