RE: Harry O'Kelly should start at RB
So maybe Harry should be starting or at least seeing time at LB or DB, given his excellent tackling form. We seem to be lighter than anticipated in the secondary.

huh? O'Kelly knock that kid on his a$$. most punters pull a hammy and look like a tennis player trying to make that play.

I guess that is why he is #98.

Most of the time when the returnner sees he only has the punter to beat he'll cut back towards the punter, not in this case, that returnner knew he was going to get leveled.

I'm pretty sure Harry is related to or at least knows the VT punter - they interact on Twitter a lot.

So looking online I come across that in the ACC besides VT & NC State, UNC, and Pitt also have punters from Australia. Then came across this nugget from this article from mid Aug:
“...And this season, across the FBS, 30 teams feature Australian punters....”

Wow, I had no idea..

I wondered why Harry made a point of getting his picture taken with the punter for NC State after the game. Makes sense now.

I would like to see the play again but it seemed like O' Kelly was under pressure and as a result his placement was not as good as usual. Because he never puts a lot of air under the ball the placement is critical. Even with good coverage if that kind of punt goes directly to the return man there is usual going to be a pretty good return. I would like to see film of that play.

He popped that guy like a safety. I was hoping for a replay of that too. Bad net play for JMU but loved seeing him hit like that.

The punt is at about 6:34 in the video - 2nd qtr 11:19
You can see a couple guys take bad angles (actually three Dukes had a clear shot at hitting him) and basically run right past the returner. Honestly it was close that Harry even got the punt off after the two protection guys literally let a State player run right through the middle of them with barely even chipping him. What are those guys there for if two guys can't even be bothered to block one rusher...

Yes, he knocked the runner to the ground. The hit wasn’t your text book shoulder pad leveling of a player. O’Kelley was more upright and seemed to hit the guy with the upper part of his right arm. While the result was the runner on the ground, the tackle looked awkward to me in real time. I have not gone back and looked at it though.

It looked pretty good on replay thus this thread should be titled: Harry O'Kelly should start at LB

Libertys punter got ejected for targeting today. Not sure if that tidbit of info belongs here or a Dean Marlowe tread.

Ah yes! The old "human missile" tackling method.
