She was sprinting to get to the "closest to the ball" position to get a JMU possession and when that failed, she could not get back to the goal quick enough.

RE: 2018 Women's Lacrosse thread
It was a great game to be at, and sitting with some JMU parents made it even better. Attendance was 785 and a good portion of folks stayed to mingle with the team after the game. I had fun as I found Morgan Hardt and told her that we went to the same High School, 50 years apart! Turns out that my old home was near where she lived. Now to get permission to go to Stony Brook. Some cools spots in Port Jefferson. Hoping our NYC and LI contingent can get out and support the Dukes.

Yeah I saw she was trying to be the closest to the ball, which I learned today. However, I would say that a goalie is the last player on the field who should be attempting that. It’s okay with the four goal lead we had at the time but why risk it? Learning opportunity there. I think she’s a freshman?

Wasn’t a good play, but you like that she’s thinking and hustling.

I thought that was the way I saw the bracket set up when I took a look last week.

RE: 2018 Women's Lacrosse thread
Weather conditions couldn't be much better for Friday's semifinal at Stony Brook. Temps around 77 at 5pm with relatively low humidity (dew point in mid 50's, very comfortable) though will be windy (15-18 mph).

Go Dukes!

Don't know if this has been posted on here yet, but both semifinals are on ESPN3 on Friday. Great way to start Memorial Day weekend!

I guess the seeding was correct for Stony Brook.

UNC favored over JMU by 1.5. Money line has the game at 3-2, meaning if we played them 5 times we would win 2.

RE: 2018 Women's Lacrosse thread
That's probably fair. I'd expect it to be slightly closer, but it's still about right. We did beat them to start the season, but it took us 2 OT's to beat them on our field. I think all of these last 3 games will be super close. We did lose to Maryland in the season, but it was only by 3 and on their field. I do like that we've been solid through the postseason. The last real close call was AT Towson to end the regular season, but still won. I'd put us at a draw with any of the remaining teams in a neutral location.

Trying to limit myself to being cautiously optimistic. Can't wait for Friday!

RE: 2018 Women's Lacrosse thread
I saw a number of WLAX fans on twitter losing their mind over the seedings they were particularly miffed about SB not being 1 or 2 and JMU being above them. They made all the typical comments about the people doing the Tournament rankings being terrible etc. And yet here we are with a final 4 consisting of the top 4 seeds from the tourney. Almost like the 4 best teams remaining are the exact same 4 teams that were ranked the highest when they put the field together...funny how that worked out.

Now we need to win this whole thing and show that we were ranked too low!

I'm hearing from my associates in Mauritius that the line has moved significantly today to UNCheat laying 4.5 goals. Apparently, word has it that the Cheaters have successfully paid off the referees and the fix is in. News at 11...
