Attitudes like yours are a large part of the reason Trump won. It's pretty obvious you still haven't recognized that, and I hope you never do.
Many liberals are arrogant and entitled and seriously believe they have the right, not to argue with us, but to drive us out of the public square and out of existence.
As you said, I hope they keep at it.
We've figured out a path forward that doesn't include the Cernovichian dynamic. Its impossible to reach people who just are going to discount any view that doesn't confirm their existing views. Science says X, Trumpers say Y. CNN is fake news, but Infowars and Gateway Pundit are to be believed. Either way, you got your 43 percent last time as a high water mark, and that isn't going to be enough even if demographics wasn't working against your side bigly.
BTW, it is absolutely true that higher educated districts (defined as percentage with college degrees) vote in greater percentages against Trumpists. Its not like Trumpers don't routinely dismiss science, medicine, fact based reporting, etc. anyway. Why be upset if people are buying what the Trumpers are selling (opposition to empirically derived science and academic research in policy). Of course, those with more training in academic matters are going to be more likely to scoff at the GOP's plan.
Also please note, Trump's bump from the tax bill appears to have stalled and started to reverse in every poll except Rasmussen. He got half of the people that voted for him in 2016 back that left him in 2017 as a result. He has added virtually no one to his support base. His electoral college victory was a 1 in a 100 shot that went in the bucket. But demographics, combined with Trump's offensive behavior as President has just moved that basket back another 50 feet or more for next time.
I heart your continued “predictions”.
You’ve gotten so many correct so far.
A State house seat in Connecticut... lol.
IF, and that’s a massive if, the dims retake the House (no shot at the Senate), I hope like hell FranSicko Nan and party leader Maxine launch impeachment proceedings.
That schitshow would have folks voting R for the next 20 yrs.
Too.... freaking.... funny
LOL. Impeachment proceedings will probably start in February of next year.
It will cover collusion with a foreign power, violations of emoluments clause, abuse of pardons, and obstruction of justice.
He might survive it (not politically though) as even if the Dems win slight control of the Senate, they'll need to get 16 Republican Senators to vote to convict, but they'll have to go on the record.
Even if the GOP gets absolutely shellacked in November, I have a hard time getting to 16 GOP Senators voting for impeachment. Possibles are: Collins, Toomey, Graham, Shelby (he's in his 80s), Murkowski, McCain, Sasse (he loathes Trump), Portman, Gardner (he's up in 2020 in a Dem leaning state), Rubio (doubtful - but he'd probably love to get back at Trump), Roberts (he's in his 80s). Beyond that, its going to be hard to get the 5 or 7 additional votes needed.
Beyond that, the following people are probably going to be indicted for serious crimes....Hope Hicks, Roger Stone, Donald Trump, Jr., Jared Kushner, etc. Trump pardons them.....and then several things are going to happen. First, they'll be hauled up before Congress to testify under oath (and since pardoned, they cannot take the 5th, as they have no threat of self incrimination) and can be prosecuted if they lie about it. Also, Mueller is probably going to not indict on certain charges that can be filed by state Attorney Generals.
And that's not including all the Congressional investigations of all of the funny business going on with Trump's collection of ethically challenged low performers in his Administration.
