Are they? Whats the 3rd tiebreaker?

I’m pretty sure it’s determined because of our records against Temple.

Unless Memphis craps the bed again I think they will be the tiebreaker.

That's what I thought. Both played at Memphis who is higher in the standings .. WSU won, UH Lost

Actually Memphis beat Temple in their one meeting. So they own the tiebreaker, so wouldn't Memphis be higher than Temple no matter what happens in the last game?

I actually think you guys are right. My mistake. So kind of confused why the AAC put a facebook post out that 1,2, and 3 seeds are still to be determined. It seems like UH is locked into the three seed. Strange.

I think we need to rework the 3rd tiebreaker rule. Such an odd thing lol.

The only thing I can come up with. Memphis loses, Temple and UCF wins then there is a 3 way tie for 5th. I think the tiebreaker changes in 3 way ties.

I don't see Cincy winning this next matchup but I do think they are the more stable team in the American. Wsu could easily be 13-6 as they are 14-3 and Houston has off nights. I'm very curious how the teams will fare in the tournament should be fun.

This .. WSU is a bad box out call away from winning at Temple and if Shake doesn't go globe trotters we are 16-1.

We are literally 1 box out foul and 1 water bottle away from 1 and 2 being flipped right now.

In that scenario WSU would be 4-1 and Memphis 3-1 against those 3 so I don't think that's the answer.

I think they weigh the record against a group of tied teams before they break any ties among the group.

Not a ding on the team more of all around play. Cincy seems the more stable team in the conference. They win the games they should whereas Houston and wsu you sometimes wonder which team will show up. But that is also being nitpicky considering they are 14-3 and 13-4 and are top 25 teams in the NCAA.

UC's point differential in conference play up to this point is +16.4. Wichita's is +11.1. For comparison, Houston is at +11.7.

I felt really good about UC winning game 1 vs. WSU, not so good about game 2, so maybe that's a good sign. That said, I am interested to see if WSU can shoot as well this round as they did in the first game. They were lights out and it's hard to beat anyone that hot. I still think UC has the better team, but have to prove it on the court.

This is what I saw. Someone figure out how UH can be a two seed. Quick. Lol.

This is the ONLY scenario I got.

Cincy Beats WSU
ECU Beats Memphis
UCF Beats Tulane
Temple Beats Tulsa

All three end up 9-9

Standings end up
Cincy 16-2
Houston 14-4
WSU 14-4
Tulsa 11-7
UCF 9-9
Temple 9-9
Memphis 9-9

UCF/Temple/Memphis decided by records vs the group tied
UCF 3-1
Temple 2-1
Memphis 1-2

WSU/Houston goes down the rankings to see their records vs each
same vs Cincy
no losses vs Tulsa (2-0 vs 1-0, so not sure if that counts)
no losses vs UCF (2-0 vs 1-0 again)
UH wins the Temple one 2-0 to 1-1

UH had a tad bit easier path, so i don't know how the tiebreakers handle Tulsa and UCF since WSU had to play them twice

I wouldn't say we shot lights out in game 1. We were slightly above our season averages but not ridiculously so. FG 52.9% vs 48.3% on the season, 44.4% from 3 vs 39% on the season.

It's not that WSU shot exceptionally well, it was that it was too easy for them to get good looks. The defense from UC was atrocious. Hopefully Cronin makes adjustments.

That was not lights out. We shot well but then again, we’re the 5th best offensive team in the country. We aren’t chopped liver in that department. We also tend to shoot better at home. At the same time, other teams seem to play inspired ball in our atmosphere.

Should be a good game on national tv regardless.

I’ll be rooting hard for all 3 teams in the big dance. My take:
Marshall’s teams historically fare pretty good. I expect at least 1 win, Elite 8 potential.,
Houston is way better than the critics realize. I think they’ll win at least 1 game with Sweet 16 potential.
Cincy is a tough out for anyone, but they have to score better to advance in the tourney. Their fate will largely be determined on matchup as they can’t keep up with a high scoring team. Win 1 game, I just don’t see them making Sweet 16, but will be rooting for them to prove me wrong.
