Cusa held its tournament in Memphis for 8 years. The Ncaa South regionals have been held there in 2009, 2013, and 2017 and is returning in 2021. The AAC tournament was held there in 2014 and will again in 2018. I've not been aware of any problems.

Having said that, FedEx forum is far too large and there would be no local interest. Imho, the best place would be a permanent location in Nashville or New Orleans. For the AAC, I would also pick New Orleans as a permanent location.

Edit--I would like to see 2 Cusa teams go to the tourney. Preferably UAB winning it and MT with an at large. Also, the AAC tournament will be in the DFW area this year, same time as the CUSA.

I know and so. That doesn't change the fact that Memphis is a nasty city.

Only thing about Nashville is that the hotel rooms are so expensive. They don't have enough, and supposedly (on average) more expensive than NYC.

Memphis would be a good place. The FedEx forum is great arena and there are plenty of hotels. Just have to know the areas to stay out of

I like Memphis and been to most of the bad areas....just got to know when not to be there. Lot of history in that city and honky tonks. I don't drink much ...a beer or two ever few weeks, more in the summer so bar hopping isn't one of the things I do. But for those that enjoy it Memphis has plenty and good food. Might even get to see JJ "the boss" do a little street racing.

I think the arena is way too large

But this tourney has to be in the West at times...just because the better teams are in the east right now doesn't mean it stays east

Who? lol

Discovery TV show on street drag racing called The Memphis Outlaws. Gas Monkey Garage is another show and it's about 15 miles from The Ford Center in Frisco.

I'm not a Nasscar fan but I do like to watch drag races. One of the races on the show was taped in BG KY at Beech Bend Raceway

RE: Tournament Predictions
If anyone buys their conference tourney tickets on line (Ford center ticket office is not selling over the phone..walk up only) they are charging a fee of almost $10 on a $35 dollar ticket and $13 on a $50 ticket.

But the site is screwed up when you click on the $35 ticket your checkout box will list the VIP $50 ticket....two of those $125 and change.

Yeah but we'll wait till Friday to ***** about it so the Western schools won't have to hear it,

Basketball is dead to me right now. At least until we get another good team that gets my hopes up and will crush me when we miss the NCAA tournament for the 40th year in a row.

Not unless a super storm picked up Amway Arena in central Florida and dropped it in central Texas.

I wonder what the picks would have been if made last Monday....

I think the MT/Western game intensity caused us both to play badly on Saturday.

I agree Raider , I was in that arena it was loud and intense.

RE: Tournament Predictions
Im somewhat confident that UNT can beat La Tech in front of the home crowd, but im not real optimistic that we will beat Old Dominion. I believe we can if Smart is at the top of his game and Holston stays out of foul trouble, but im not confident that that will be the case on Thursday.

I hope those of you picking UTSA over UTEP do realize that the point differential in each of the two regular season games was 4 and that UTSA's best player is out.

Oops, my bad. Future tourney in Ft. Worth. Not that a Memphis bball fan would care much nowadays. Is it football season yet?

Y'all got any tips left from Cal or Pastners playbooks?

if you are going to the tourney signal tickets are on sell

Going by this you have a choice of $20, $35 & $50 seats

$20 are in the stands behind the baskets
$35 are in the blue
$50 are in the pink

Semis & championship it goes up to $35, $45, $65

It looks like you can view either court with the one ticket since there's no box to check for court A or court B

Damn I hope the noise doesn't bleed through the sound-curtains.

I think the biggest problem will be the horn and bands since one will be up in the air and the other at the end of the court. Going to be interesting to see how this plays out. Ticket prices are in line with UAB and I know Hot Spring was a 100% better than what it looked like without being there. We are leaving Wednesday afternoon and driving to right below Hot Springs and a 4 hour drive on Thursday....

hopefully we are not heading home Friday morning.

through ticketmaster, you can use the code NTMen for 15 dollar tickets to the mens sessions and NTWomen for 15 dollar womens session tickets
