Yeah, I'm cool with it.

Porter obviously deserved it. Not sure how Delph gets in over him (plus Porter put up 29/12 just last week vs. Delph)

Boykins is a first or second teamer, at worst; he doesn't get respect bc he doesn't have gaudy points per game.

Jackson is a good player that will be a star. Not 2nd team at this point.

Beard on the list is comical.

Walters should have been 3rd team.

How does Justin Johnson get first team? Hes borderline to even make the list. Coleby is a better player.

WHAT?

Yes, exactly all creditability this guy has is gone...Nothing against Coleby but Justin is by far a better overall player than Dwight...Justin absolutely deserved first team...I think the teams are about right, not sure the love for Beard though? Also would have Hollingsworth on all Defensive Team....

Personally, I think WKY fans overrate him (though he did torch us). He's numbers don't stack up to the conference's best.

Looks like Doc Sadler is a great coach. Somehow he is beating a lot of you guys with no talent.

Porter not being in is slightly ridiculous but I can buy the rest.

What other guys in this conference have 1,500+ points and 1,000+ rebounds for their career? I’ll hang up and listen.

1. Johnson deserves every accolade he got for the year he’s had.
2. Johnson is not an all-conference defensive player.
The teams look pretty good to me. There’s always arguments to be made. Somebody is always gonna be left off that some fan base gets upset about.

I think the POY is ultimately going to come down to Elmore and King. Depending on who you rout for or what formula you go by, it is very much up in the air at this point. King is on the better rated of the two teams, but Elmore has had the better stats over the season and in both MU/MT games. Who knows really.

I’m an ODU fan and I feel like I want to make a case for Caver for POY, but Nick King is far and away the most deserving POY, in my opinion.

If first team was a career award then Giddy would be on it. Second most important player on the best team. He's got over 1500 pts and 500 rebounds as a guard. Plus third all-time in the league in three point percentage. But Giddy is a team guy. Took 100 less shots this year than he did last year.

Guess what I'm saying is career progress doesn't and shouldn't have any bearing on first team accolades.

In all seriousness if CUSA did give out an award like that for seniors he would win it hands down this year. I've got the utmost respect for his game. Not a flashy player, a workhorse that gets it done on both sides of the court.

Good list for me. Of course not everyone will always be happy but for the most part I agree with all of it and I watch a lot of ball. Not just my team.

I can't believe there were no Marshall players on the all-defensive team. 03-lmfao

How do you figure Elmore has better stats? I think what you mean to say is that he scored more points but even that was close.

Elmore shot 44% from the field. King 49%

Elmore shot 33% from three. King 38%

The two stat areas where they diverge is because of the position they play. As a guard, Elmore had a lot more assist whereas King had more rebounds.

And then by just about every saber metric type analysis King has the better numbers. Lastly, he has the trump card of having led the team to a national ranking and the regular season title. It's difficult to see this even being close.

We will find out soon enough but again - if it's not unanimous - I will be surprised if Elmore gets more than a handful of first place votes.

The voters dont care about advanced numbers. See no Porter and Johnson being on list. Defense and efficiency get lost in translation. Pace isnt considered.

Fair point. But I think they do look at traditional numbers like FG% - and the other intangible stuff. Elmore will get nearly every single #2 vote except for the few that vote him #1. But King will get nearly all the #1 votes whether they considered advanced metrics or not.

Granted, it is a small sample, but I was more impressed weith Elmore than King.

Based upon your very same small sample, I thought CJ Burks was a better all-around player than Elmore. And King superior to them both.

No USM anywhere.
Cortez Edwards set the school's all- time season record in steals.
Thought he'd get a look.
