I didn't know that the Fellowship of Christian Athletes was banned in public schools. Actually, for the record, they're allowed in EVERY public school, as per Federal law.

Actually, YOUR side wants special restrooms for Transgendered students. All our side wants is for Transgendered students to use the restroom consistent with the gender they present. Your side wants Transgendered students to be stigmatized by using a special restroom. Actually your side wants to bully and ridicule Trans kids into just disappearing period, but that's another topic. Don't pretend you don't carry extreme bias against Trans kids when you can't even bring yourself to mention them without knowingly and deliberately insulting them.

Students should NEVER be subjected to prayer led by a teacher in a classroom. Kids go to school to learn, not to indoctrinated in some religious service by a teacher or coach.

Simple, because those members who are teaching aspire to be one of those (well paid) paper pushers. Get rid of those paper pushers on both sides, put the savings into the classroom, including higher pay for teachers, adequate funding for supplies, and while we are at it beefed up security.

How many assistant principals did you have in HS? How many now? Why?

We had one, and he doubled as a guidance counselor. It was a HS of about 250, I do know some of the bigger HS's had two.

Horse manure...

*1* Many claim to present as 'fluid' meaning girl one day, and boy the next.
*2* Many on your side are busy pushing the non-binary crap so they don't present as either.

Quote:Your side wants Transgendered students to be stigmatized by using a special restroom.

They have special needs... That is accommodated by one private bathroom

Quote:Students should NEVER be subjected to prayer led by a teacher in a classroom. Kids go to school to learn, not to indoctrinated in some religious service by a teacher or coach.

Cut out the stuff I have struck through and we agree. Unfortunately your side is keen on indoctrinating kids into interseciotnality and social justice.

I went to a private school, so it is apples and oranges, but we had a headmaster, a head of upper school (we also had a middle school), and a dean of students. Essentially 2 assistants, but with much different responsibilities than the average public school assistant. I did go to public school for middle school and in 6th grade there was 1 assistant. In 7th grade, they added a 2nd.

Funny.... When schools try to show Islam in a positive light people on the right object but people on the left do not...

I'm not sure WITF this has to do with trans bathrooms.

Yeah, I have no clue what he was referring to. It is like he saw a Twitter post he liked and decided to drop it somewhere.

Blame the person who introduced it in this thread... Wasn't me. Even used a N-bomb level pejorative to refer to Transpersons while doing it.

For me, its about discrimination. Are taxpayer funded jobs open to all, or just some. So, ND and TCU, who clearly DONT discriminate would be fine in my book. But Baylor, BYU, Liberty, and a bunch of other schools wouldn't be okay. A Gay college professor living in Waco has no taxpayer funded job available to him, while straight college professors do have those taxpayer funded opportunities. Gay students living in Lynchburg cannot access educational opportunites without moving. Maybe the taxpayers should pay living away from home expenses to allow LGBT kids in those areas to access the same educational opportunities that the TAXPAYERS pay for straight students.

And remember, the existence of a discriminatory institution, can 'crowd out' non-discriminatory ones. Especially in the case of a small minority.

And the problem is very bad at the college level. But its even WORSE for primary education. There are places where there's only room for a one program that teaches AP Latin or AP Physics. If taxpayer dollars are used to fund the local in classroom education of straight people (and for straight teachers only), and the local LGBT kids (and teachers) are effectively blocked from any local opportunities. Maybe the solution is for every school district in the country be required to start Harvey Milk Academies that offer the exact same curriculum as the private taxpayer supported school. These schools would probably lose TONS of money and would require huge subsidies.

Why would a gay college professor want to live in Waco? Hell, why would a straight college professor want to live there? Or a gay student want to live in Lynchburg?

I understand the point you are trying to make. But the problem is the real world is a lot more nuanced than you want to make it. Try writing a law that accomplishes what you want without running afoul of a bunch of constitutional provisions.

LOL. McClennan Community College and Texas State Technical College are NOT going to offer the same courses as Waco. They probably pay far LESS and offer far lower advancement prospects.

What other six colleges are you referring to? I'm not aware of any four year college in Killeen-Waco area where LGBT people can be professors.

You know, you really can't complain when the are a lot of liberal professors and students at major public institutions when we're basically locked out of many schools. They teach at Texas State because they can't get a job at Baylor or HBU or Abilene Christian or Hardin Simmons, or Dallas Baptist, or ........

And if you're arguing that the GOP should be able to win elections while losing the popular vote because Gays and liberals shouldn't congregate in big cities....then I ask you....where can a Gay college professor even be employed in those areas?

And its not feasible to demand that Gay people start their own school in Waco or Killeen. Sometimes there's not enough demand for more than one school or there aren't enough of that discriminated minority in an area to make a school feasible (partly because Gays and non-Christians have to leave the area for employment).

And our taxpayers are subsidizing it.

Tommy... The Minnesota DMV does not use the same computer systems as my employer... So I can't go work there.

And? Shoot Tommy I moved across five states to land a higher paying job with better chances for advancement. It's called life.

There are four others within a 30 minute drive... And before you gaffaw at that consider you can live in Buffalo and need to drive 30 minutes to get to the UB campus.

Hill College - Hillsboro, Texas 32 miles from Waco center
Temple College - Temple, Texas 35 miles from Waco center
University of Mary Hardin Baylor - 38 miles from Waco center
Central Texas College - Killeen, Texas 48 miles from Waco center

Once again you have made a demonstrably misleading claim about the employment prospects for a homsexual person.

The % of schools that "lock out" is so small that it's statistically insignificant. As you yourself have said, nearly all colleges, private and public, hire homosexuals.

REGARDLESS OF HOW QUALIFIED THE GAY PERSON IS, THEY CANNOT BE EMPLOYED AT A TAXPAYER SUBSIDIZED 4 YEAR OR MASTERS LEVEL COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY IN THE WACO AREA. FOR THE RECORD, I CHALLENGE YOU TO NAME ONE SCHOOL THAT WON'T HIRE EVANGELICAL CHRISTIANS.

Quote:They probably pay far LESS and offer far lower advancement prospects.

SOME PEOPLE CAN'T MOVE. AND IF GAY PEOPLE SHOULD BASICALLY BE BANNED FROM BEING ABLE TO WORK MAJOR FIELDS OF WORK IN CONSERVATIVE AREAS, EVEN IN TAXPAYER SUPPORTED JOBS, THEN WHY DO SOME REPUBLICANS ARGUE THAT THE REPUBLICANS SHOULD BE ABLE TO HAVE AN ADVANTAGE OVER DEMOCRATS BECAUSE THEY DON'T LIVE IN CERTAIN PLACES. DEMOCRATS DON'T LIVE IN CERTAIN PLACES BECAUSE OF DISCRIMINATION.

Once again you have made a demonstrably misleading claim about the employment prospects for a homsexual person.

THERE IS NOT ONE SINGLE JOB THAT I CAN FIND FOR A GAY COLLEGE PROFESSOR TEACHING IN A 4 YEAR SCHOOL OR MASTERS LEVEL SETTING THAT IS AVAILABLE ANYWHERE NEAR WACO.

The % of schools that "lock out" is so small that it's statistically insignificant. As you yourself have said, nearly all colleges, private and public, hire homosexuals.

THE NUMBER OF SCHOOLS IS NOT INSIGNIFICANT. ITS HUGE AND IMMENSE. THERE ARE ONLY THREE SCHOOLS THAT DISCRIMINATE ON THE FBS LEVEL. BUT THAT'S ONLY RELEVANT IN A FBS DISCUSSION. I WILL LAUGHINGLY NOTE THAT YOU ARGUED THAT IT WAS INSIGNIFICANT RIGHT AFTER YOU FOUND A RANDOM SAMPLE OF FOUR SCHOOLS, AND THREE OF THEM WEREN'T RELEVANT AND THE OTHER ONE ALSO DISCRIMINATES.

ITS 100% OF THE UNIVERSITY JOBS AT TAXPAYER SUPPORTED 4 YEAR SCHOOLS IN WACO/KILLEEN. IS THAT A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER. AND EVEN IF THERE IS A NON-DISCRIMINATORY SCHOOL, THEN GAYS ARE EFFECTIVELY REDUCED TO COMPETING FOR A LOWER NUMBER OF JOBS. AND IF YOU'RE ARGUING THAT ITS OKAY FOR GAYS TO BE LOCKED OUT OF A MASSIVE PERCENTAGE OF TAXPAYER FUNDED JOBS AT SOME SCHOOLS, THEN CAN YOU PLEASSE STOP WHINING BECAUSE THE SCHOOLS THAT DO HIRE GAY PEOPLE ACTUALLY HAVE SOME MORE LIBERALS. YOU CAN'T SIMULTANEOUSLY ARGUE THAT GAYS SHOULD JUST GO TO ANOTHER SCHOOL AND THEN WHINE WHEN THOSE SCHOOLS ACTUALLY START LOOKING LIKE THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO GO THERE.

MY COMMENTS IN ALL CAPS. By the way, the Republicans, just yesterday, introduced legislation enabling the wholesale firing of massive numbers of LGBT individuals from massive numbers of taxpayer funded social work, medical, and educational jobs nationwide. It happens, and the GOP apparently supports "youre fired for being Gay, even from a taxpayer funded job".

That's not the way they were using "establishment" when they wrote the constitution. FFS you're a teacher, you should know better.
