Back to PA-18. We have an new poll out. http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/377...l-election

I still think Saccone wins in a squeaker. I think this poll is a slightly too favorable to the Dems based on the fact that its cell phone only (many older voters - who tend to be overwhelmingly Republican only have land lines). But reportedly, many GOP internal polls are showing a similar result. Trump will be travelling to the district this weekend. Who knows what he will promise? My guess is that whatever he does will likely be at best a wash.

The Economist is reporting that the GOP has outspent the Dems by 11 to 1 in that district. In a Trump +20, Coal and Steel heavy, largely white district? How could the GOP lose this seat? On paper its not possible that this would be even close. But the election result will likely be close.

Easy to see what they did there. Still over sampling dems. 41-40 in a heavily republican district.

Two political parties spending millions of dollars to win a seat that will not exist 10 months from now. What a joke!

Its not a joke. Its a good sign of how Trump and his views are faring in a district that should be extremely favorable to him and his views. There's a reason why GOP affiliated groups have outspent Dem ones 11 to 1.

"...You wouldn’t know it from the screaming national headlines or the colossal amount of cash both parties are putting up to occupy the seat for the next nine months (almost $12 million in ad spending alone), but the reality of special elections this cycle is that they are more about winning a storyline than about winning any House seat....

If there’s any real effect to come from Tuesday’s election, it may be how it makes Republican incumbents feel about their chances in November.
An unlikely loss for Saccone will give pause to incumbents on the fence. A Saccone victory will be filed along with the other five House victories for Republicans with a deep sigh of relief, along with an understanding by everyone involved that the race was closer than it should have been in the first place, and that Trump probably gets the blame for that.
It’s a lot of time, money, and effort to invest in a feeling, but that’s essentially what special elections have become. Tuesday’s contest is no exception."

LOL. You might want to compare Trump vs Clinton results in districts with higher education and income.

What I thought only well to do white folks voted for Trump? Are you telling me the struggling working class voters also voted for him and not Queen H?

LOL..Is that why the GOP spent millions of dollars calling a vote for Lamb a vote for Pelosi?

Is it true or is the GOP lying?

LOL. How is the Democrat even in this race. Outspent by a wide margin. No scandal on the GOP side. Classic Trump district. Trump won it by 20 points. The GOP is running on their tax cuts too. The GOP should win this by at least 10 points, even if the Dems are surging in turnout. There are 120 GOP held districts that should be more flappable than this one.

Same way Trump was in the race with Hillary... Politics is funny and despite your best effort "herding" people into stagnant camps is not easily done.
