Interesting that you would insinuate that he isn't deserving.

It's fascinating the incredible green blinders you Marshall fans have about this. Literally no one across the league, in the league, associated with the league or fans of the league shares this opinion yet y'all continue. That takes a special kind of....

Well nevermind.

Like I said if Elmore would have played like that all year on the road and in the big games he might have gotten a couple of first place votes to make it close. It's clear you guys only watched two games with Nick King in it.

They just showed a graphic during the telecast that Elmore had the best year statiscally of any college player since 1997, when a player from Ohio State had similar numbers. But whatever, Jon got the big prize.

It was the way you completely dismissed any Marshall fan from even mentioning that Jon could have possibly been POY. And it wasn't just you bashing Marshall fans...

Not taking anything away from King, and I've gone on record multiple times saying he was deserving, and that I hope MTSU can make the tourney.

But it was you with the blinders my friend. You were blinded with the belief that just because Marshall fans, the ones who have regularly seen Jon play like this, stick up for him that they are not educated basketball folk.

We feel the same way. It’s like Elmore wasn’t given credit for his great games, just trashed for his less than stellar performances.

It doesn’t matter. He got tourney MVP and stole Nick King’s and Justin Johnson’s dancing shoes.

In all seriousness what hurt him was his three road games against the other top three teams in the league. The people voting did not miss the fact that he didn't play as well in those games (i.e. was only 2-of-20 from three in those games) and his team was 2-4. Marshall didn't have to win the regular season for Elmore to get POY. He just needed a better showing against the top teams in the league and maybe won at least one of the other four games. No player in the country has the ball in his hands as much as Elmore sans maybe that freshman at Oklahoma. When you always possess the ball you're going to have a lot of stats. POY isn't just about stats. Again, not sure why that's so hard to comprehend.

And what "way" was that?

When did I bash Marshall fans before you all started getting corn cobs stuck your asses in the past week? The only thing I ever said leading up to the POY decision is that I thought King had it locked up because he was consistently good all year both on the road and at home and his clutch play in the biggest games of the year (sans his play against y'all) would carry him. Because King did those things and Elmore did not I was convinced that King would get it (and I was right). How the F is that bashing Marshall fans?

You and few of your other Marshall buds have to be the most sensitive people I've ever dealt with on this board for the better part of a decade I've been on it. I pretty much didn't do anything you just said I did in this post.

Let's put this discussion to rest. King is POY, and we just wanted to 04-cheers for our man on a wonderful night.

I think it's safe to say if they would allow for CO-POY, both would be considered. I've said my peace. Seasons over, now we're in this together.

I'm good with that. As far as I'm concerned both of them earned what they got.

I'm sure Nick would give it up in a second to get to play in the NCAA Tournament.
