Lol @ C-USA. This giving it to the regular season champ’s best player is kinda dumb. But hopefully it gives Elmore a little extra motivation to kill it this week.

Congrats to King and MTSU. Valid arguments could be made for both Elmore and King, so it makes sense to give it to the player from the regular season champ.

Maybe Elmore will get it if he's scoring and assist leader for the third time in a row.

Elmore already gets to play on the same team as his dad. Is that not enough?

Interesting that you would insinuate that he isn't deserving.

It's fascinating the incredible green blinders you Marshall fans have about this. Literally no one across the league, in the league, associated with the league or fans of the league shares this opinion yet y'all continue. That takes a special kind of....

Well nevermind.

Congratulations! I actually like this from a Marshall perspective.

It was always going to be extremely tough if we have to run into Middle in the semifinals. Not looking past UTSA at all, that's going to be a tough matchup. But this should give our players some extra motivation to rally behind Jon, and hopefully Jon has the game of his life to prove everyone wrong against the team with the Conference USA player of the year.

Maybe it will give him motivation to play defense?

FIFY
On the contrary. Congratulations to King and MTSU. While it would have been awesome for Elmore to have won the POY, I understand why King earned the award. He was deserving of it. No two ways about it.

This was really a no brainer. It would have been a travesty if King did not win it. I mean, they haven't had a screw up to that level since Alex Hamilton won POY.

The flops will be extra spectacular this week.

In all seriousness though, he is a great player. I've never been impressed with his outside shooting but he's as good as they come at getting to the paint, creating shots and maneuvering around the basket. And his floor awareness is outstanding. I enjoy watching him play (when he isn't whining). That could hurt his stature as well.

Unfortunately, for him King was just spectacular all season and made the biggest shots at the biggest times of the year. That's what being an MVP is all about.

I don't think there is any question Elmore will be the runaway front runner for next year if he returns.

Thanks Josh! Thanks Tubby!

Pastner ran him off. After Alabama, he indicated an interest in coming back to Memphis, but Tub said he no he was a quitter!

Congrats to MT and King.
