Impressive night, Houston.

We'll be fine. Ucf is kicking tail in baseball and we still have a good NIT chance.

if everyone from ucf returns next year, ucf and houston could be favorites in every single male revenue sport next year (football, baseball and basketball)

I think you guys will both be picked top 3 for sure. Cincy should be up there again I would imagine.

All depends on what Shamet, Milton, and Evans decide to do. We better have 5 bids at a minimum next season.

Even if Evans leaves we will still contend for the conference title. It will be a different brand of basketball but Mick knows how to get it done starting 4 guards.

You have entered the Savacool Zone.

But you have a ways to go before you reach the rarified air of negative 100 and beyond. Only Greenwave16 has done that. Troll of trolls.

Savacool (Tulane), Tallgrass (Tulsa) and was it greenwave16 (Tulane)?

Those guys knew how to troll. I think Savacool and Tallgrass passed away as they were old.

Tallgrass been some moons since I read that name. If he passed r.i.p.

If I was a Cincy or WSU fan, then I can see the appeal of keeping the Tigers mired in mediocrity. However, a powerful Memphis is in the best interest of the conference in the long run.

I honestly think Tubby is a better choice at COACH than Penny. So I am more afraid of mediocrity with an unproven coach. So for me I would rather you keep Tubby unless you go grab an upgrade in a proven D1 coach.

Now I understand this is money and fan driven. But if I am talking pure wins and better coach. I think Tubby > Penny.

I think the best solution for Memphis before all this crap started would have been to convince Penny to join the staff as HC in waiting. Recruit and learn the ins and outs of D1 coaching including NCAA compliance from Tubby for a couple of years. Then Tubby retires or moves on and you have a smooth transition with a better prepared Penny.

That may have been ideal, but that's not the way it worked out.

There was a possibility Tubby might have been approached about that after the season. We can thank USF for screwing that up. Peeps who count gave up for good when Tubby suffered the worst Memphis loss in 48 years or so. Coupled with the ECU loss, and given Tubby's lack of recruiting results for 2018, and his complete ignoring of his PR responsibilities in his contract, here we are. For better or worse.

Tubby is still gone.

And it's on CBS! Jim Nantz and Bill Raftery!

Clearly the best afternoon game.

18 West Va vs 9 Kansas should be a good one at 5 PM central.

Then 12 UNC vs -1 Virginia at 7:30 PM Central.

Only three games involving two ranked teams.

Agreed.

I wish they could've gotten off the 6 line though. That's a spot that usually has a pretty focussed mid major opposite of them.

Or if you're lucky, a floundering P5 team.

Might be better to be a 6 than a 5.

Fours and fives make the Sweet 16 half the time.

Sixes make it 33%.

Sevens make it 18%

Eights make it 10%

Nines make it 4%

I'd rather be a 5 than a 6.

As far as I know, CIT is for "mid" majors only.

No American team has ever played in it. I'm not sure any MWC or A10 teams have played in it either. Maybe Utah State played in it from the MWC. It's rare.

For the CIT, conferences like the MAC, C-USA and the Valley are the cream of the crop.

The WSU and Houston game should be fun, although neither team has much on the line. IMO, the game will have little impact on seeding.

I think Houston can climb to the 5 line with a win. If we lose, it's probably the 6 or 7 line.

As I posted elsewhere, huge differences in those three lines in terms of making the Sweet 16.
