I hope you mean overall record not conference record. I'd say .500 in conference by year four would be good work.

Yes, overall. Pitt was 8-6 out of conference last year, but 0-18 in the ACC, 8-24 overall. Convert 8 of those losses to wins gets them to 16-16.

I really like this hire for Pitt.

Sure, there might be some questions about X's and O's regarding Capel, but his recruiting ability is top-notch.

He may not get tons of elite recruits to come to Pitt, but he's familiar with the Mid-Atlantic region from his time first at VCU, then Duke. For a Pitt program that used to rely on players from the northeast region, I think Capel is the right guy to begin making in-roads in the Mid-Atlantic. Pitt's proximity to Ohio recruits could also be a big plus for Capel, as that's another state he could pull solid players.
