Yeah, kinda like when a boxer is the undisputed champion. Well, if it's undisputed, then what the hell is all of the fighting about?

First of all I hope you misspelled it on purpose, if so then I dig the jab.

Second of all, do you not realize Huntington WV is about 5-6 hours and 400 miles closer to Dallas than Norfolk is? I am not here to make excuses but to think we are that close is kind of an oversight.

I liked Northfork. Has a deep in the heart of Texasss sound to it. Sounds like a ranch a guy named JR Ewing would end up on.

Besides, not everyone knows that ODU is located in Squidsville USA.

At least it's buggery between two humans

Well...that’s only applicable if you count US Naval Seamen (not semen) as actual human beings. I personally do not. As Bartleby the Scrivener once said, “I prefer not to”. End o’ story.

Yep and it's a far nicer city to visit than Birmingham

I like this concept, but the location may need to be Nashville. And where is Ashville? This thing needs to be centrally located. If not, lets add basketball - only members and split this tournament into two. Eight teams in the West, and eight in the east. Play a three-game series for the championship. The higher seed hosts 2/3 games.

Im assuming they mean Asheville, North Carolina. Its at the west end of NC near Tennessee.

Ashville isn't nearly enough centralized. That would be a great spot for the East tournament. We in the West will take New Orleans or Austin.

You in the west have already had UAB (2), UTEP, and now Dallas(2). Never returned a champion from any of those, and never attended well other than the host schools. So your turn to pick is over for the next 5 years.

RE: Dear Judy, Sorry, for those that just want to complain
From east to west the center of conference USA is about 1,000 miles (Little Rock AR). That’s like driving from New York City to Orlando. Our geography and youth as a conference means we have no center or soul. We must create a hub for our conference tournament. Oh, we play in other locations but we always return to our hub.

A city like Louisville with the Yum center. A city within seven hours of six of our teams. We go to Dallas for two years but we come back to LOUISVILLE for three years, we go to Orlando for two years but we come back to Louisville. Louisville becomes our Nashville (SEC), Louisville becomes our Greensboro (ACC) Louisville becomes our New York City (Big East) our hub.

Or we break up east and west and we go our separate ways. Or we go to the process of elimination and set a quota on each school in the tournament; top four teams must have 600 people at the tournament, next four teams must have 400 at the tournament, next four must have 300 at the tournament and the teams that don’t make the tournament must have 100 at the tournament, We drop curtains at the top of the arenas and not just black curtains but curtains the promote the conference. If a team doen’t meet their quota they don’t Play in the tournament the following year.

I agree you guys havent hosted anything, sure it'd be cool for there to be a Tournament in Nashville or somewhere over there. But I wouldn't say "The West" had UAB. It may be a West school, but its central. Its barely farther west than WKU or MTSU. I couldnt really even call El Paso giving a tourney to "The West." The nearest was UTSA, 7 hrs 40 minutes away. That was giving one to El Paso.

There are plenty central-ish locations out there that could work with any effort at all.

What are our options for basketball only schools? College of Charleston and UNC Wilmington? Tournament in Myrtle Beach? Close enough for ODU, Charlotte, UNCC, WKU, MTSU, UNCW and CoC to reasonably get to. Doable for UAB and the FUs as well.

RE: Dear Judy, Sorry, for those that just want to complain
Here's a great Ideal.....just support the tourney and show up. No matter where its being played people will find enough excuses as to why it should be somewhere else. One thing Im sure of, a large arena is not the answer.

Going by the numbers I saw at the Ladies UNT game last night if UNT had won through to the finials(men). This place would have been packed in the semis and finials....

Thats the way it is, home team wins you have good crowds. Lose you dont but with a lower amount of seats...smaller is larger in the overall scheme

The ford Center has set up actives and other things and went pass my expectations. Nothing against UAB but this is a totally different setting.

To my surprise the restaurants outside werent obscenely expensive either. Its a much better deal to eat out there than at concessions.

If 1,050 miles is the center point of Conference USA there are 5 teams west of the center point and nine teams east if you count USM. Drawing a straight line from UAB, MT, WKY, Louisville and near by Marshal it shows the nearest Teams on the east side of the geographical center point are almost 400 miles short of the center.

If we continue going out west all the time it will destroy the conference. The SEC owns Nashville. We should own Louisville.

anywhere in that region is cool in my book.....

west is simply the wrong move for our fanbase relative to hoops....

that's the crux of the point, eh?

I simply chose Nashvile for the same reason.....

it really doesn't matter to me as long as it's somewhere around there....

Using the following link, the geographical midpoint of WKU, MTSU, ODU, Marshall, and Charlotte is Bristol, TN. Throw in UAB, and it moves it about 80 miles toward Knoxville. Those are the 5/6 schools that can support a central location. The Bristol to Knoxville is where this tournament SHOULD be.

Let’s just get back to a regional conference ASAP. I gotta tell ya, I miss the CAA Tournament like crazy.

ODU, JMU, Liberty, Marshall, MT, WKU, Charlotte, App, GA St, GSU, Coastal, UAB. Maybe FIU and FAU.

Put the Tourny in Charlotte, Richmond or Nashville, and attendance will be 30,000 over four sessions.
