Someone once said something about a good name and great riches.
But yeah, spend your life chasing dollars and piss on ideas like honesty or loyalty or having a clean conscience.
Because money.

I have a special needs daughter, too. I work my entire ass off. I am 51 years old, and have 2 jobs.
I have also turned down many opportunities because I'd have to move away from easy driving distance to Southern Miss.
The only time I left Southern Miss was to attend Ole Miss to get a pharmacy degree, because Ole Miss controls the MS Legislature, and Southern Miss is allowed very few advanced degree programs that have decent job prospects.
Why do I love Southern Miss so much. Because I saw a guy named Reggie play when I was 13, and because USM has always been crapped on, stepped on, pushed around, and cheated by the powers that be since I was old enough to pay attention.
Lately, I don't even like USM's fanbase anymore. If they're not wearing a Bama hat or attending Mississippi State games, they're bitching about basketball because they're scared to death that it might take 3 dollars away from baseball.
I'm too old to quit now, though.
Just sick to death of the mentality where, for instance, a small business owner laments the way Wal-Mart destroys mom'n'pop businesses, then runs to Sam's club once a week to buy supplies.
Our ADs and coaches are crying crocodile tears when they ***** about being left out. Watch them when they get the big P5 job. They laugh at us. They refuse to play us. They lie to recruits.
And we sit down and try to figure out a way to appease them, so we can get 3 more crumbs from the big table than our G5 counterparts get.
Yes, I'm angry. And I'm angriest at the fact that most of you are not angry.

Sooo much for the loyalty you showed him through the mediocrity of his first 6 years. Just another coach

We are hoping for a last-minute change of heart.

We "hired" Bruce Pearl back in the 1990's, and he went back to Milwaukee to tell his team............ and then did not take the MT job. We proceeded to hire Randy "Asleep At The" Wheel, who set us back over a decade.

After reading through this thread I can say I am sorry for MTU and all of the rest of us ‘midmajors’.
This is a trend that will not end. Ole Miss has received so much freakin money from ESPN that they are having trouble spending it all. Besides the huge bump in salary KD will receive he will now recruit to a brand new arena that truly rivals some professional coliseums.
The real evil in all of this ESPN. They are to blame in the ruination of amateur athletics. I will never in my life watch any of their channels again and no other non power conference fan should either.
