I wish our maiden year would have continued on the same trajectory as the first couple weeks of the season but... **** happens. We'll get it figured out. I suspect we'll have a spot or two opening up on the coaching staff after the season concludes.

I just pray that we can cobble together some semblance of a defensive mentality for at least 4 games in a row or there may be more egg on our face to come. Stay tuned haters!!!

The Koch brothers with their unmatched wealth will keep Marshall in place. Not many have assets of $120 billion. 04-jawdrop05-stirthepot

I think it funny that people all over think that the only reason WSU is any good is because of Koch money. 03-lmfao

Koch hasn't spent as much on WSU as many think, he is just the biggest of several big donors.

You do realize that this is proving everyone else's point, don't you. Tulsa was riding high in the MVC and when they moved to a better conference they hit a decline.

Same thing happened to Memphis when they moved from C-USA to the AAC.

Actually we moved to a better conference and got better. We were good in the valley, we were better in the WAC.

So what happened in CUSA and the AAC? Worse conferences?

RE: [Serious] WSU fans... thoughts on year one?
Love the new conference. I believe the AAC is underrated, yet well away from our ceiling. If a few teams get back to their program standards the top half of our conference can be as good as any.

Regarding the Shox season, I for one am disappointed. Same kids, but the fire and toughness hasn't always been there. I know we played better teams and that is a primary factor. I'm not as disappointed in our record as I am our performances.

Many folks a lot smarter than me also felt WSU underachieved. Las Vegas list Wichita as betting favorites in 32 of 33 games. We were 25-7 straight up as favorites. Losing 22% of the games you're favored in is a terrible percentage. The only game we were an underdog we won. Marshall's teams traditionally have been outstanding in the tourney as underdogs. If we can get out of the 1st weekend I think we can be a problem and like us over Nova. Wva scares me in the 2nd round.
