UH won the Peach Bowl two years ago and just finished in the top 25 in basketball. UH just completed the Guy V Lewis practice facility, and Fertitta Center opens this year. But go ahead and tell me how Tulsa and UCF are better jobs than UH. Lmfao.
What does football have to do with a basketball job?
Why don’t you read what he said. Or is reading not your strong suit? “UCF as an athletic program”. There, I helped you out.
This thread is about basketball. You seem a bit #Triggered.
I got lucky pitting UCF against Houston. Clearly I stepped on a nerve...
UCF may consume us all if they continue to expand at their current rate.

How many times did you hear "Game of the Century" or "Phi Slama Jamma" during this tournament? Even though our success is ancient history, it is the type of history that is not forgotten. For that reason Houston will always be thought of as a good job. We just have to stop making multiple bone headed hires in a row.
Yup. For someone that has no history, we sure do get talked about a lot. Even when we are playing Cincy or UCONN. The broadcasters sure as hell aren’t bringing up any UCF, Tulsa, or SMU history.

UCF ahead of Houston. A school that is 0-4 lifetime in the tourney. This guy doesn’t have a clue. UH is right up there with anyone in this conference basd on history alone, and far surpasses Wichita State.
UH will have the best facilities in the conference once the Fertitta Center is done. UH is in Houston. Texas produces crazy amounts of division 1 talent. Idk if a state produces more.
UH can go toe to toe with anyone in this conference.
Major credibility hit.

RE: Ranking the best jobs in the AAC
With the right coach in place, its UConn.
Otherwise, I think Memphis
- Basketball 1st city (not the case in NOLA or cities in Texas, Florida, or Oklahoma)
- NBA arena- largest in league (full when the team is good)
- New $20M practice facility
- Top 3 recruiting base in conference (Memphis, Houston, Philly) and until Tubby, almost all of the best talent stayed home
- 3rd best all time NCAA tournament resume in AAC (UConn, Cincy)

The argument is which are the best jobs at the moment.
Houston isn’t even top half. Take your homer glasses off for a second.
As soon as Houston starts pulling in 4000 fans a game for an NCAA tourney team, I’ll consider the move above UCF.

Why on earth would historical tips of the cap have anything to do with a job's attractiveness? Those players aren't coming back to college. And none of the recruits today were alive when it happened. The biggest hit on Houston is their lack of a basketball fanbase. A coach has to seriously question whether he wants to try and build a basketball program at a football school where the loudest fans will be those on visitor's floors.
Sampson has done a remarkable job and I expect him to hop to the next major job opening he finds appealing. He's not going to retire coaching in front of empty bleachers.

Houston SWC championships - 7
SMU SWC championships - 14
Houston AAC championships - 0
SMU AAC championships - 2
SMU vs. Houston head-to-head in the NCAA tourney
SMU 2
Houston 1

Houston has more F4's.
Memphis has more appearances & wins, E8s, S16s and much more recent success. I'd go advantage Memphis.

I'm not going to debate which has a better history (that's pointless), but wasn't at least 1 of the announcers a Houston Alum? And started his career broadcasting in Houston around the time of Phi Slama Jamma? I can't imagine why he would have brought that up so much ...
