I think he did that on purpose trying to make the "one shining moment" highlights.
The stool , which is now sequestered in the GSU Sports Arena, is a piece of crap. It would not take much for anyone with two good legs to fall off.

I didn't think their coach was throwing shade. I thought he was playing up the David v Goliath card, which is a smart move on his part, because that's exactly what this is.

For GSA to be in this one and not get crushed two things have to happen:

1. They have to be red hot from 3pt range, including hitting them with guys in their grill
2. Their zone will have to be really good and/our shooters ice cold. I can't speak to their zone, how good it is or not, but I can speak to our shooting- we were 2-14 from 3pt range vs Memphis in our AAC tourney opener. So we are certainly capable of sucking from downtown.

If UC is hitting and/or if GSA's zone isn't that great and we can get inside to Gary and Kyle it will probably be a long day for the Panthers. With lots of fouls and UC free throws.

GSA will not have seen a defense the likes of Cincy this year (and historically, this year's UC defense is one of the best ever in the Ken Palm era) so they won't be able to simulate it in their practices with their own guys. We will have this going for us regardless of how we are shooting and regardless of how good GSA's zone is or not.

But that's why they play the games and its called March Madness.

When he fell out of his chair that was the highlight of that round IMO. I loved it. And yes, i was rooting for GSA that game.

oops...sorry on the a/u deal. Will fix it.

I said your team has not seen a defense like UC's and you haven't. Fact is fact. What do you want me to say? They had the #2 defense in the nation this year for a long stretch and it was also the #2 best all time in the Ken Palm era (behind Virgina, from this same year). If its the #2 best defense in the KP era and you haven't played UC, unless you played Virginia, you haven't played any defense on this level.

My comment is based on statistical fact. Sorry if you don't like facts.

Here is more bulletin board material from Hunter (did not see it elsewhere):

Quote:We have some guys here who can really play,” Hunter said. “I know those guys (at Cincinnati) are thinking, Oh man what’s the second round going to be like? They’re not thinking anything about Georgia State. we’ll see when the clock hits zero what they think about Georgia State.

Hunter maybe entertaining the media and they laud him, but Hunter has placed his team in unnecessary peril. Perhaps Cincy would have overlooked GSU, but they will not now.

Unless I'm looking at the numbers wrong, GSU has not played a top 50 RPI or Kenpom team this year. GSU is a good team with strong metrics, but their schedule has been very soft this year and they lost to some pretty bad teams. They did give a really good Purdue team a scare last season, so some guys on this year's team do have that experience. But it's been over a year since GSU has played an NCAA Tournament caliber team and Cincinnati has a historically great defense, so I would say BC1's comment is accurate. An upset here is not beyond the realm of possibility, but GSU is going to have to hit some big shots early and not be shell shocked by the level of defense they will face.

Meh... If teams need bulletin board material at this point, they shouldn't even bother.

Ironic that the thing Cincinnati is most famous for is a TV show based of an Atlanta radio station.

Or maybe you have a very limited knowledge of Cincinnati, but have knowledge in the niche area of Wkrp.
