The A-10 always manages multiple bids. At times its kind of easy for them to be categorized as a mid major, but there are enough programs that spend, SCHEDULE, and compete appropriately that they usually get find a way to get 3 teams in the dance.

Since the A-10 has was supposedly decimated by a raid, they've had 19 bids in 5 years, won 11 (and counting) tournament games, placed a team in the Elite 8, and have placed an eye popping NINE separate teams in the dance. 12 teams currently in the league have been to the dance since 2011 (the other two teams are hopelessly outmatched in the league). The conference is so deep that its going to still usually get multiple bids even in down years.

This year, 3 teams (2-0 so far)
2017, 3 teams (1-2)
2016, 3 teams (2-3)
2015, 3 teams (2-3)
2014, 6 teams (4-6)

They might not be a top level conference, but they're somewhere between a mid major and a top tier conference.

Choklafreakinhoma was the poster child of everything wrong with this committee and the direction we’re heading. When they push our guys completely out I’ll never watch another NCAA tourney. Do you think I give a **** whether UNC beats UK beats Kansas? I do not sir. I prefer not to.

Sorry but you don’t get to define how I boycott. My hating knows very few limits. I don’t even hate Choklahoma per se. But this year they represented everything wrong about this committee. All the lies told to keep good mid major teams in the past were swept away this year. So Choklahoma was the poster child, the marquee name of the shittt they pulled this year. I wanted to see if they lost. They did. I was happy.

Tonight I checked again to see if UK lost. My hate for them is entirely different of my hate for 2018 Choklahoma. UK didn’t lose but I see they didn’t win big either. So I’m not devastated or anything. But I would have loved a UK loss just for what it does to the goobers around here.

When they do make the break of keeping all the mid majors out I know I’ll never watch one minute of their new tourney. I don’t give a **** if UNC or Duke or Kansas or UK beat each other in their latest paid for teams tourney.

Most years I’ll watch the first two days of the tourney non stop. Just as a former hoops junkie. Plus there were always some early upsets of the big boys. Most people enjoy those. The powers that be are trying to remove that enjoyment by limiting the number of teams. Middle Tennessee would’ve beaten the doggshittt out of Choklahoma. But because of some moving target fluid metrics they determined no soup for Middle.

In years past I rarely watched past the first weekend unless a smaller name school was making noise.

I realize my ‘boycotting’ has ZERO effect on them. Just my personal choice this year. Just fed up with it. Getting that way with football too. When the break occurs I’ll probably give up on college athletics entirely. That’s just me though. How you choose to follow it is fine with me.

I’ll stay up late Monday night to watch Western against USC. It’d be great to come away with another scalp from teams we’re not supposed to be able to beat.

Regardless of whether Oklahoma won or lost they did not belong. Same goes for Alabama and they won. Calling Rhode Island and underdog is comical I do say.

Hell, I watched the games that you speak of -- but not because I was boycotting. I just prefer watching the supposed "underdogs".

And if you polled most of the USA, I suspect you'd get the same answer.

Does the casual tourney watcher really care who wins (for example) the Iowa State vs. Wake Forest or Georgia Tech vs. Oregon game ? I think not.

They want to see the Cinderellas. The decision makers may be biting the hand the fed them. I bet ratings start to go way down, at least for the early rounds.

Unless you're a Nielsen family, your activity isn't being included in the ratings calculation. So if you're watching on cable, watch whatever you want*. It won't have any impact on ratings.
