So Long OU
Beaten by Rhode Island. This is probably a real laugh for OSU.

Rhode Island was a #7 and OU was a #10, so Rhode Island should have won. Oklahoma was more deserving than Oklahoma State anyway.

Why is that? URI is a good program from a good conference. They played 13 tournament teams and beat 7 of them. They beat 2 other teams that are NIT qualifiers because they won their conference championship. They had no bad losses. URI won a first round game last year too. They were ranked in the top 25 for much of the year, and deserved to be.

They played 2 teams OOC that didn't either go to the NCAA tournament or go to the NIT by virtue of winning their conference.

The A-10 has placed at least 3 teams in the dance every year since they were supposedly 'decimated' by a raid 5 years ago. They've had 19 bids in 5 years and those teams have combined for a total of 11 (and counting) wins and a trip to the Elite 8. NINE separate A-10 teams have been to the dance in the last 5 years and TWELVE current members have been since 2011.

And they were favored in this game, because they were supposed to win. And they did.

Exactly, I picked URI

Yes. Now Loyola-Chicago over Miami? That's an upset.

URI is a good team. Not knocking them. I always like it when the little guys beat up on the big guys, but OSU was more deserving of a bid.

That sure hurt my bracket.

URI wasn't a little guy in this one.

I suppose you could make a case for OSU over OU for a bid. But OSU didn't really play much of a OOC schedule (best win - over a 9-9 ACC team at a neutral site. Lots of good wins but LOTS of losses too.

OSU vs OU. Okay, I can see how OSU can feel jilted there. OU did beat Wichita State OOC though. But lost 11 of their last 14. I think the best way to look at it is this.....MTSU probably deserved to go before either OU or OSU. Either way, OU is gone too.
