RE: Hoops next year
Who will be our starting 5 this year? This year more than ever I see multiple players that could be starters.
However, considering we went with a consistent 5 towards the end of last season and they are all back, do we go with them again?
Pusica
Gresham
Occeus
Boursiqout
Green
Murphy could possibly take a starting job from Max or Green. I'd like to see a lot of progress from him. Roland will likely take some time away from Gresham, Brace could get more time this year too. Who knows what we'll get out of Miller Franklin and Strong.
Pusica and Occeus are the only two locks in the lineup every night probably, the rest might be matchup based. Though Coen has shown he likes to find a lineup and stick with it, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a standard lineup thrown out there by the time December comes around.

Hard to argue with that starting five. I think Green is as close as you can get as a third starter "lock." Last year our biggest weakness was that when Vasa went out our offense stalled. Roland was a highly rated PG in high school so I'm hoping he can do a better job filling that backup role along with getting a lot of Begley's minutes. As for Tomas, until he gets a dependable jump shot I think he's destined to get his minutes at the five...setting screens, rolling to the basket and putting missed shots back up. He came a long way last year, though, so who knows.

One week away from the opener vs bu. Really looking forward to it. I know we are the favorites in the CAA on paper (in most rankings, though a few have us a #2 or #3), but we have to show it, and prove the critics correct. Most of our games vs the terriers have been fairly close over the last 10 years, I'm hoping we can run away with this one.
I know it's pretty meaningless, but still fun to see where people have ranked us. Collegesportsmadness has us at #69 in the country. ESPN #71. CBS #79. Midmajormadness has us as the #22 mid major team.

Our record against them has been great for a while but you're right....the games are almost always close.
On another subject... recruiting news for the 2019 class has been a little sparce. We've been spoiled for a while by finishing up our recruiting in the November signing period. This year two of our three spots are open with only one offer out there.

The games vs bu at their place are barnburners, at Matthews not so much.
We have blown past them as a program, and they know it ... even though they won’t admit it.
For 2019 we got our PG of the future. We just missed out on 6”5’ SG Luka Sakota from Canada who committed to Harvard last week. I still think we need a another big to go with Ebo, Murphy, Strong and Shaq.

I read somewhere that Walter Whyte has not been practicing and has been wearing a boot.

RE: Hoops next year
https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men...lacing-rpi is titled "College basketball: The new ranking system replacing the RPI, explained." It says:
"Northeastern coach Bill Coen, who also is a member of the NABC’s ad hoc committee, said this is another step in the process of everyone understanding what a tournament-worthy resume looks like.
“While the committee generally felt the RPI served as a very useful tool to help identify potential NCAA tournament teams, we needed to find out if we could do better,” said Coen, who has been at Northeastern for 12 seasons. “We asked the committee to more narrowly define a quality win, taking into account where the games were played, and that led to the new quadrant system. The quadrants try to capture the fact that beating a top-75 team on the road is likely as difficult as beating a top-30 team at home. The intention was to more clearly identify which teams had more quality wins."
