Just hope your team is not nervous. If you can come out like MT did against Izzo's boys, you'll be fine.

But Marshall can make up a lot of points in a short amount of time (if you do happen to get behind).

Get it done Marshall. Much respect for the Shockers basketball program, but I like ya'lls odds on the upset.

It's gonna take all they have to pull off the upset today, but I know we're gonna go down fighting till the end either way.

All I will say is the top 4 schools, maybe top 5 were very underrated this year. The way WKU and MT are hammering in the NIT goes to prove that. Maybe this gives me false hope of Marshall's chances, but I think a team than can or has beaten either of those teams, can hang with most and pull one out. Just my take. Going forward, if MT makes a good hire to keep the train rolling, I can see things getting better overall as a league, BUT more schools have to step up, including improvements in facilities, not naming names. We basically need to become what the Missouri valley used to be, that is reasonable.

I just hope we play well. This is gravy. Most figured out best chance to dance would be next year.

Keys To Victory:

#Come out strong and hit the 1st few shots
*Limit Offensive rebounds, Marshall will not win the rebounding battle but if at the end of the game the Shockers are only up 10-12 on the boards we have a chance
*Make the second chance points Marshall gets count, if we have 12-14 second chance points, we have a chance
*Elmore, Burks and Penava have to play well, having West step up and Williams and George play their role will determine how well we do


If we can get WSU to play our game of the faster the better then I think we can get them out of their game and have a chance to win.

Exactly, this was a rebuilding year, but has turned into one of the biggest surprises (positive) that MU sports has seen in many many years. Win or lose, this has been an outstanding year for a team that was projected to be .500 at most.

The CUSA coaches had Marshall 7th in the conference. Seventh in the conference this year after everything was played out was North Texas. North Texas was 16-16 (8-10). So that's almost right on the money.

Marshall did enter the year with only one starter returning, Jon Elmore. Ryan Taylor (1778 points), Stevie Browning (985 points), Austin Loop (1096 points) and Terrence Thompson (318 points) were all gone. That was 82.5% of Marshall's points last year

The thing is those going to Marshall practice in late June and early July knew we should and could be better than what the coaches thought. Turns out we were.
