New Mexico?

Missouri has been 26 times without making a final 4. They have lost in the 1st or 2nd round 19 times of the 26. But they have made some regional finals.

Ok I was wrong but New Mexico has had 13 straight NCAA tournaments without a sweet 16

Murray State took 1-seed Michigan St to OT. A point from being the only 16 to ever beat a 1.

They’ve also had runs end by a bucket in the 2nd round to teams who either won the national championship or finished runnerup. ‘88 Kansas, ‘10 Butler.

MCV Commish says the MVC won’t add for next season, but didn’t state anything for the 2019-20 season. Murray St would be the perfect candidate to take the MVFC to 12. The MVC must get a 12th school though for 2019-20.

Murray St was responsible for most of the fans at the OVC tournament in Evansville, and Arch Madness had to have noticed, as its hurting from the loss of Wichita St fans.

Western KY made the sweet sixteen several times, including at least twice in the modern era of more than 16 entrants (1993 and 2008).

WKU has been to the sweet 16 multiple times, most recently in 2008.

My Bad, I apologize, that was MTSU not WKU. I seemed to have switched the two schools between reading the name and writing it down. I think I was in shock that such a strong program never made it and rattled my brain. Corrected list:

Out of those schools: Murray State. Their chances of making the tournament on a regular basis are better, whether they remain in the OVC or move to the MVC as rumored. The more appearances a school makes, the greater the chance of a run in the tournament. A run to later rounds of the tournament is as dependent on matchups as it is on the strength of an individual team. Team strength definitely matters, but there is luck involved in a single-elimination, 68 team tournament. In time, the law of averages is due to work out for the Racers.

I think Middle Tennessee has missed their chance now that Kermit Davis is gone.
