UVA wasn't a 1 seed after they lost their player and UMBC should not have been a 16 seed.

UMBC was not the #68 seed, so to speak. I think that would have gone to LIU or one of the other play-in 16’s. I was puzzled as to why the committee set it up that way.

Number 68 was probably Texas Southern because they were the designated road team against NCCU. And I don't think Virginia wanted TSU either. TSU was better than UMBC, even if not on paper. They have a former high-major coach that coached for a national title and even if he couldn't cut it at that level, is better than a glorified AAU coach like at many schools at that level. And they have a few high major spare parts.

TSU put up 83 on Xavier, I doubt Virginia does much better.
